| Parakeets plus Scooter...help I rescued two parakeets last Saturday. They came from a horrible situation and I just couldn't stand to see them like that. Well......Scooter didn't notice them until yesterday and now he's obsessed with them. The cage is on the breakfast bar and if he stands back a bit he can see them. He starts barking then takes off like a rocket running to the front door?????? Anyone else have birds and a Yorkie? I don't plan on letting them out of their cage, ever.

| My Aija and my little adorable Lexee had a bird facination....I could be out in the yard and I would suddenly stop, and say "WHAT was THAT???!!! What WAS that???!!!" It's a BIRD!!!!!! Bird!!! and Lexee and Aija would go crazy, running all around trees, and up and down the fence, looking up in the tree and along the top of the fence for birds!!! Aija would even go nuts in the house if momma was using the feather duster and she would tell Aija she had a bird!!! Couldnt dare put that feather duster where Aija could get to it, because she thought it was a BIRD!!!! I buried little Lexee out by the fence where she loved to chase birds for all her years here! |

| Before I had yorkies I had a Poodle and 2 dwarf parrots is separate cages that were wall mounted appox. 3 feet off the floor, their wings were clipped because I would let them out of their cage (one at a time they would fight if both were out) My Poodle was fine with them, they would sit on the poodles back and pluck her hair, it didn't faze the Poodle. Then I got my first yorkie, as a puppy she would jump at the cages, as an adult she would sit under the cage and salivate, the fluttering of their wings would drive her crazy and she went into pray mode, I got 2 more yorkies and the same reaction. I NEVER had the birds out from the day I got my first yorkie. When the birds died I never got anymore. Maybe other yorkies are diff. but that was my personal experience with yorkies and birds.
