Before I had yorkies I had a Poodle and 2 dwarf parrots is separate cages that were wall mounted appox. 3 feet off the floor, their wings were clipped because I would let them out of their cage (one at a time they would fight if both were out) My Poodle was fine with them, they would sit on the poodles back and pluck her hair, it didn't faze the Poodle. Then I got my first yorkie, as a puppy she would jump at the cages, as an adult she would sit under the cage and salivate, the fluttering of their wings would drive her crazy and she went into pray mode, I got 2 more yorkies and the same reaction. I NEVER had the birds out from the day I got my first yorkie. When the birds died I never got anymore. Maybe other yorkies are diff. but that was my personal experience with yorkies and birds.
