| ![]() Sorry no advise on the traveling, just wanted to say, Cody is a lucky boy, gets to go on vaca with mommy and daddy. Awesome that you are taking him. Me, if my pup can't go, I don't go. I am not comfortable leaving my baby with anyone. I would NEVER be able to enjoy my self. Bless you for taking baby boy with you.

| ![]() I think you should trust your instincts--after all who knows better than you what will help keep your precious (and lucky) baby comfortable and calm?! Enjoy every minute and let us know how your Las Vegas trip goes! I wonder...Will we be seeing a picture of Cody http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/images/icons/icon6.gif (he's justa hunka-hunka burnin' love...) at the slot machines?! |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | ![]() I've traveled w/ mine on a plane and they do pretty well. Wylie doesn't mind the crate, however, with Marcel we have to tranquilize him as he *hates* being in the bag. Is yours okay already w/ the travel bag? If not, PRACTICE a lot and get him comfy. Btw, I always place a soft frozen gel-pack in their travel bag (under a cloth) to try to keep them cool on the plane, which can get hot sometimes underneath the seat, ya know? This is a good thread for you to read too: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/tra...you-bring.html

| ![]() Five hours is quite a long time. Have you had Cody in a carrier before? I know Uni would HATE it, but Toto likes being tucked in, so I would never try to fly with Uni. What hotel are you staying? (You don't have to say for privacy) But I'm asking bc make sure you understand the hotel's pet policy. Some charge a fee per day, some are per stay. And do NOT try and sneak him into one that does not allow pets. It's not worth the risk. My favorite hotel in Vegas was the Platinum, but we live here now so we don't have to stay in hotels anymore. They are just off the Strip behind Bally's on Flamingo. Great central location. Their rooms are a bit pricey pet fee is $75 per stay up to two dogs) but they are 900 sq ft apts with a full kitchen. I really appreciated that esp when staying for nearly a week. You can take leftovers from restaurants and reheat them or even cook full meals. Also no casino, no smoking. It's quiet and check in has short lines. The only thing was valet only, no self parking but it's free, just tip the valets. After a few days they remember you and greet you by name.

| ![]() We bought an airline approved bag before we got our Mitzi. We use it for her crate to sleep in and stay in when we are gone for short times. She loves it. We have it in the family room with us during the day and she will often hop in for naps. i agree with work on prepping your puppy early. Have a great trip! |

| ![]() We started flying with our girl when she was 1 with a direct flight from newark to phoenix (5.5hrs). The best advice I can give is to stay calm during the whole trip no matter what happens. I'm pretty sure I get more nervous/anxious than she does when we travel. You just have to stay calm. |

| ![]() I don't have any advice on traveling with your puppy as I haven't been fortunate to go anywhere with my puppies yet. I am sure though that you will have a much better vacation with Cody than without Cody as you would probably spend a majority of your time wowing about him. I only wanted to say that hopefully Cody has had all his vaccinations before you take him around that many strangers, especially flying on a plane. Enjoy your stay in Vegas. We really enjoyed it when my daughter had her destination wedding there.

| ![]() And tell Cody not to spend too much at the tables! All that free alcohol can really mess with a pups mind and cause them to gamble too much! ![]()
