| Get her tired out. Play with her. Fetch. Chase. Whatever it is she likes. Just because we want to pet them does not mean they want to be petted at that moment. Get them when they want to take a nap and they are putty in your hands. Otherwise you have a Tazmanian devil in your lap.

| That's what yorkies were created for, to be spoiled rotten lol. Enjoy these days they grow so fast. I agree, tire her out, when she is ready for napping is the best time to massage her ears.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | If you want her ears to stand, you do need to tape them....there is a thread in the Puppy Library on how to do it...

| Dutch is definitely not a lap dog. She is too much of a tomboi to be sitting pretty and luxuriating. She is 3.5 years old so there is a possibility your little one may never be a lap dog She rather be chasing bugs and birds. Every now and then she will indulge me and sit in my lap for all of.....two minutes. Last edited by yavenay; 08-14-2015 at 06:19 AM. |

| I knew very little about Yorkies, except that I wanted one, because they are compact, but big in personality. I thought Penny would be a lap dog. If she layed down after I tired her out, and I tried to pick her up to my lap or chest, she would jump up, run 5 steps, flop down and "Hmph" at me. She refused to be on a lap. Now, in the past month ( She's 11 months old), she will allow me to pick her up, and she will lay on my lap or chest for a little bit. So, maybe with age and maturity, she will spend a little more time calm. Until the cat passes by LOL |
