| My 17.5 11bs Pure Bread Yorkie-PERRY I'd love to know that there are more yorkies that weigh that much...Perry is a strong and healthy 7 years old...yes he could lose some weight but as it is he doesn't eat that much (only once a day) and walks/runs a lot...But thank you for having this site which I discovered 2 weeks ago. |

| My Duncan is a 8 month old yorkie puppy and weighs 11 lbs. now. I am not sure how much he will end up weighing by the time is he finished growing but he is a sweetheart. He isn't fat either, just a big yorkie.

| I am a breeder that ended up with TWO enormous babies!! One was a breeder from a very "elite, exquisite"line that I had always wanted a breeder from....he was/is gorgeous...but he was only supposed to get to 5-6 lbs....this line runs larger so that was OK...and I have a female that pulls size down and her babies are 4-6 lbs.....well this male who I had with a handler, thinking I would show him because he is so pretty....he took off and grew into a monster weighing 14 lbs! I went ahead and bred him to my female that pulls size down, and she had 5 babies...4 matured from 4.5 lbs up to 5.5 lbs...then the last one took after his father and he weighs a whopping 16 lbs!!! I love him and he is precious, but I named him Cow....my brother said I was hurting his feelings calling him that, so I changed his name to Cowboy....he is a wonderful boy, but these huge yorkies are great....they have all the "joie de vie" and personality of our beloved breed, and he has enough size on him he can play catch with a frisbee and a Nerfball, which he would sell everything I have to anyone willing to throw that frisbee hours on end!!! |

| I have always placed those 6#+ larger yorkies in families with kids.....Cowboy is the largest "throwback" I have ever had and wont be breeding his pappa again.......they make GREAT dogs for kids.....and while Cowboy is a bit big for a elder, he and his size are good for people that want a yorkie because of personality, etc, but are afraid of a small dog they may trip over! |

| Welcome to YT.....My passed girl Matese weighed in at 17 lbs, not an ounce of fat on her, she was a big beautiful girl with a beautiful sleek body. My rescue boy Cody is 4 y/o and weighs 12 / 13 lbs. All my passed babies were 10 to 13 lbs. I LOVE the bigger yorkies, all 4 of my now passed girls could play Frisbee for hours. I have to laugh at myself, when my son was 8/9 y/o I could not throw a Frisbee to save my life lol, but for my babies I learned lol. You are not alone having a big yorkie.

| Harry (that's him in my avatar) weighs 20lbs Not a single ounce of fat on him, just long and sleek and completely scrummy! By the way - he was 10lbs when we got him at 12 weeks (double eek!). Andy and I are so very, VERY clumsy that we went for a 'big boy' on purpose...ever such a lot to love, though... Enjoy! Sally + Harry xx
