| Country Home Yorkies Puppies Hi, I know of a breeder that has a litter of puppies and if she can't sell them by herself she contacts Denise Rodayne of Coutnry Home Yorkies and she buys them from her. Is this good breeder conduct? |

| This is just my opinion, but no. A good, reputable breeder normally has a waiting list for her pups and they all have homes before they even exist. If she sells them to someone else to re-sell, that says to me that she doesn't much care where her pups end up, and she doesn't care to know if they ever crop up with any hereditary health issues. Good breeders keep in touch with their new puppies' families and know immediately if one of their pups comes up with a genetic condition, so that they can eliminate that breeding pair from their breeding program. Again, just my opinion, I'm sure others will chime in soon

| No. A good breeder sells there own pups because they want to make sure the pups are going to the best home and want to meet the new owners and ask them lots of questions and sign a contract.

| Nope not good conduct at all. Any Reputable Breeder will sell their own pups, so they can know all about the family and where that pup is going.

| I went to the site. I think this is it. Mini Teacup Yorkshire Terriers Boston Massachusetts Toy Yorkie Puppies For Sale Manhattan New York I noticed the heading is Mini Teacup Yorkshire Terriers Boston Massachusetts Toy Yorkie Puppies. If this is the same place, from what I have learned here, Mini Teacup and Toy are red flags. Hopefully some one with more breeder knowledge can give you more information. So, looks like the breeder doesn't care where the pups go. Most good breeders really put a lot of effort into where their pups end up.

| She's a broker. My suggestion is to contact Clover hill Yorkies or another new England breeder on the YTCA list. Read about this broker in the regional new England forum

| Oh sorry I misread your post. No reputable breeder would give their babies away to a broker.

| I know of many breeders that go out of business or can not sell their dogs due to health reasons, they end up selling their dogs or need help. Also, Country Home is not a broker nor would I know of them to do this unless it was a special situation to help anyone out and they are very loving and take really good care of their animals. I'v seen lots of Dogs go to rescues and shelters to die or put to sleep. I would rather a reputable breeder like Denise sell my dogs then some awful broker or rescue that is going to put the dog in a cage and forget about it. Country Home is with the better business bureau and has many happy clients. |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | At the minimum this is a red flag. If another breeder wants to help out in placement of puppies they direct their clients to the original breeder - who then would go through the interview process etc etc. In a dire emergency situation such as grave illness or death of the original breeder - another breeder might take over the placement of the puppies etc.

| Here is their website: Country Home Yorkies It *looks* like they are a breeder and not a broker, based on the information on their page. Last edited by pstinard; 05-15-2015 at 02:49 PM. |
