| Slipping on floors So my dog Chibi is almost 8 but I dont think he is old. A couple of months ago I came home and he was holding his right paw up, took him to the vet and they said it was a badly bruised tendon. He was on anti-inflammatories and rest for a week. He stopped limping and I thought he was better but ever since then he seems to be a little slippery on our hardwood floor. We've had this floor for 3 years. He also occasionally holds up that right foot, just for a moment. He's not slipping to where's he's falling over or anything, it's just like he can't get traction when he sits or stands (mostly in the front legs). I've had him on glucosamine/ chondrotin for about a month now. Everything I read about dogs slipping seems like the dogs are really old or have other arthritis issues. Chibi has a LP in one rear knee but no other related issues. The vet didn't say he thought he had arthritis when we went in for the limping. I also thought it might be the hair on his paws but I just shaved him really good on his feet and it doesn't seem any better. Is another visit to the vet needed or is this just something that happens? I hate to think of my baby boy as old

| Maybe he keeps slipping and slightly re-injuring it, one of those repetitive motion type injuries, and fails to put full pressure on his feet, fearing re-injury and so he keeps slipping. Can you try a trail of secured area rugs to see if that gives him some stability and allows his wrist or foot or whatever it is to heal? A couple of months of area rugs where he slips the most and that cover the areas he frequents most could be worth it to see if he eventually stops holding his foot up - which kinda leads me to thinking he's got some tenderness or pain. What do you think?

| Old Yoga mats cut in half lengthwise make very good "runners" for a disabled dog. |

| Dinky is recovering from ligament and LP surgery and one of the things we are told is that when he is on the floor (in a penned in area) that it needs to be carpeted. He does not have the strength in his leg to keep from slipping. So I think the idea of providing your pup with runners etc. makes sense. I hope she feels better soon. |

| Kimchi slides around too and I think it's aggravated her LP. I have to keep her paws pads regularly trimmed down so that her pads can add traction. Gotten small rugs for my room and it's help (she likes it too). Some socks has the added grip (the no slip padding) that might also help.

| My living room where I keep them during the day is hardwood. I can try using blankets as rugs and we do have some yoga mats. I am worried jumping down from the couch is hurting him too, we have steps for our bed but I can't seem to find pet stairs compact enough to fit by the couch. I wish I was a handy person, I'd make them myself. Thanks for all the I put I will try to make some sort of cushiony area for him to walk on.

| we have hard wood floors on more than half our main level, I am constantly telling my hubby to stop throwing the toy on the hardwood because Lola slips and slides like crazy. I also know she prefers to not walk or run to chase a toy on the wood because anytime she gets the chance she walks on the rubber type mats we have all over our kitchen.

| You may want to take a look at our Mini Meshies to give Chibi some additional traction. It's mainly larger breed dogs that need traction booties, however these work really well for small breeds.

| My dogs slip on the wood floors and tile. But my wife cut the fur on there pads and they don't slip so much. Moki will run and stop then slide..Then take off again.as he knows he will. When his hair gets long... |
