| How cold is too cold? I bundle Moxie up in a sweater, a light coat, and a heavy coat but it is freezing and windy and too dirty/ muddy for leg warmers so her back legs and some of her underside and face are exposed. It is freezing and windy in NYC. How cold is too cold? |

| Well it's never too cold to go potty outside cuz well... he has to! lol. But for walks and outdoor playtime?? I don't do super cold winds, etc, I hate it and it's not worth it. But if it's sunny and in at least the 20's (F), it's doable for us.

| Callie goes outside potty in all weather hurricanes to snow and ice storms. She has learned to go quick.

| I feel bad because I am an NYC resident, so she doesn't have a big house to roam around in, rather a comparatively tiny apartment. There is a back yard, but then we are back with the weather issues! |

| HI, I am formally from NY, the Bronx, I had 3 yorkies, all house broken, all types of weather & temps they had to be walked. If she's not house broken and uses pee pads I wouldn't venture outdoors for exercise under 30 degrees & high winds. You also have to be careful of salt on streets and sidewalks, if you do take her out bathe her paws with warm water when you return home to get any salt off that may be on her paws. You can play roll the ball, play hide a treat and let her search for it even in a tiny apartment for some exercise. They are calling for frigid weather for the next several days, it's ok if she misses long walks for a few days. You can try a short walk, see how she does, if you see she is to cold pick her up and carry her home.

| How cold is too cold, at 6:00 AM this morning it was 1 degree here in Stow, Ohio, no Yorkie or other tiny breeds should be out in this........unless they know how to go and run in fast.

| 6AM here on the mountain temp was 2 degrees, Cody ran out did his business and came flying back in. Winds gusting 25 to 55MPH wind chill could be as low as -25, no outside play, only potty and back in.

YT 2000 Club Member | My three have always been trained to go outside to do their business through snow, sleet, rain...whatever. They do have a roof "overhang" on the den's south porch that protects them from the elements. I have NEVER used wee wee pads for any of my fur babies until recently. Prissy, our precious, soon-to-be 14 year toy poodle has been looking so sad here lately when she has to go outside "for business" when it is cold or raining that she just breaks my heart. So, off to the store I went a few weeks ago and bought 6 washable wee wee pads for the comfort of our precious senior girl, who became a huge part of our family at 8 weeks old. I placed a wee wee pad down in the den for her for the days when the weather wasn't up to her standards. I had no idea if Prissy would use this or not since she had always been trained to 'go outside'. Well, to my surprise.....not only does Prissy use the pads, but on cold and raining days they all three use them and not one of them were trained to do this. I was shocked and thrilled at the same time!!! It is so nice on those miserable days that they don't have to get wet or miserably cold.

| From the get go our lilah has used potty pads and I really couldn't be happier with them. You hear that Yorkshire terriers are very difficult to train and I know some folks are very successful devout outdoor potty training families but for us, I really feel like giving lilah a safe indoor space that is acceptable to potty has created a lot of the success that we have. We don't have the canadian chill where I am but car doors rip of their hinges regularly in our wind storms! and I seriously celebrate the potty pad.

| When it is "cold" here in Houston, (and that is NO WHERE NEAR 1*!!!!) and wet and windy, mine will run to the back door, and when I open the door for everyone to go outside, they get a faceful of that weather, tiny butts hit the ground, and everyone looks up at me like, "So do YOU go out there and squat in that weather to pee???? well, neither do we!!!!!" I LOVE pee pads!! |
