It does look great and I tossed the idea to my DH and contractor but my husband didn't want vinyl. There are much prettier selections now a days!! I think you made a good choice!! I have seen many of the new vinyl floors in brand new homes while I'm doing home checks for my rescue and some of them are just beautiful!

| Wood floors are a pain to clean. I wish ours were laminate.

| My landlord did a minor remodel in my kitchen and when I questioned the tile guy (he was putting in ceramic tile) about laminate wood flooring, he said uh-uh! He said laminate is unforgiving with any kind of liquid, spills, etc. Said that was NOT the way to go--especially if you had animals and/or kids--simply walking on it with snowy boots ruins laminate. I certainly know nothing in the way of flooring, but as conversation was less than a month ago, I still retained a few facts! He works with all different types of flooring and strongly recommends ceramic tile because it is longest lasting, most durable and easiest to clean and keep clean. Good luck with your remodel!!! | I redecorated my den this summer. Both dogs have the run of the den, hallway and kitchen. There is something about carpeting that they love and think it is their personal bathroom! I did a ton of research since no way was I putting carpeting back in the den. I found a company in North Carolina that sells Pet Friendly Flooring. I actually bought the samples pack so that I could see the what I was buying. The pieces are very thick vinyl with cork in between, but look like wood planks. Got the samples and poured water on them while locked together. Let them sit of a few hours. There was no leakage between the pieces. My contractor said it was the best flooring he ever saw. My son-in-law, also a a contractor, said the same thing. I am thrilled with the floor. While accidents are few, when they happen I wipe it up with no problem or staining. They have a good selection of colors so you can get anything from cherry wood to dark oak. You can only buy it from this company, but they are wonderful to deal with. Good Luck with your decision. |

| Handscraped engineered wood hides a lot of problems, just clean up any wet spots asap. We love it. Wood stairs are dangerous for everyone, including pups. We REALLY want to put wood in entire house but all the research I do about the stairs keeps us from doing it. |

| I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post the name of the company. Glad you did. I actually ordered two different boxes to decide what color I wanted. The shipping cost was a bit much, but once I decided what I wanted, Pet Friendly Flooring sent FedEx to pick up the box I was returning, and credited me for the box and the shipping charges. When we ordered the amount we needed it was delivered in two days. Wonderful product and wonderful company. Only problem was my two pups had to get used to being on a floor and not carpet. They definitely needed some traction for a few days |

Yay! I got a positive comment on the engineered wood! I know we will have to be extremely careful on the stairs and will keep the doggie gate up. (Didn't want to but I will for my girls sake). A couple of months ago my granddaughter-in-law slipped on the (carpeted) stairs with my great grand baby in her arms. They were both ok but it scared us all. Stairs can just be so dangerous regardless. I missed a step at our shop and went flying right into the wall below..head first! It was dark and I didn't see that last step! Thank God I had my purse as it broke the fall a little! My rooms upstairs are rarely used so maybe it'll be ok. If I don't like the wood or it just becomes to dangerous then I will cover them with carpet again or just look for other options to make them safer. Thank you so much for your input!! I knew I could count on my YT friends to bring things to my attention that I hadn't thought about.

Thank you so much! The floor that my DH picked out is not real slippery (Thank GOD) but I will be making sure all pups get their manicures on a reg. basis. I had heard of the pet friendly floors but didn't research them before my DH trotted out and signed a contract and paid for the engineered wood floors that will be here within the hr. He's out of town so much that I made it his chore to go and pick out flooring. I have a huge floor sample and it's not like the hardwood I used to skate on in my socks as a kid. LOL! It has a little texture to it. I confirmed that my DH spoke to the sales rep. about us having animals so hopefully between the two my girls and I will be happy. I will have to put out a fetch rug for Hannah in my bedroom but that will be no big deal.
