| Scared.. Hello, First of all I would like to state that I am new to this form. I have a 11 month Yorkie and his the love of my life. I love him so much. We spoil him rotten, and I swear his so dramatic. lol However I noticed last Sunday that my baby was limping. I called this vet and made an apt for him. The soonest they could get him in was on Tuesday. She left his left leg, and said she fears its not his leg, but his HIP. I am flipping out and crying at this time, as I have heard of painful stories of hip dysplasia on dogs. But she was kind of shocked because his so young (11months) and its not common with small dogs. He has a x-ray today. I should have his final diagones today. I am sitting here waiting for them to call me in. My heart is pounding, my stomach is turning. On the bright side. I bought him pet insurance, when I first got him 10 months ago.. I have the bronze policy which means I pay 200 deductible, with a 10% reminder balance. I called them today, and they were very happy to get on his Per-approval paperwork. Please please pray for my baby. Last edited by tsingh; 01-02-2015 at 01:29 PM. |

| Well, it sounds like he's in good hands. It's great that you got pet insurance, and that should save you a ton of money in the long run with your little guy. Let us know how everything goes today!

I have petplan. He got all his medical work up done, and certificate of health giving him a clear bill of health with no per-condiition issues. I am having my attorney friend do all of his pre-authorization paperwork (so they know I am not playing games). Please please pray. I hope shes wrong, and its a sprain, or growing pains. I cant imagine him in pain. His been on pain meds since Tuesday.. | |

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | Hugs to you. I know it is so worrisome when something is wrong with our dogs. There is a hip disorder called Leggs Calves Perthes - or avascular necrosis of the femoral head. It might just be what is going on with your boy, or of course Hip Dysplasia. The good news is, the toy breeds usually do well with hip surgery! If it is either one, I would advise an orthopaedic surgeon to do the surgery. And of course pre-op blood work.

Oh (((Hugs to you and your family))). Just try to wait to see the diagnosis. And then go to the specialist to confirm. The good news is that you have pet insurance and that will be very helpful to defray any surgery costs. Here is a link to the College of Board Certified Veterinary Surgeons: https://www.acvs.org/

| I'm glad to read that you have pet insurance in place already. Hoping for positive news from the vet.

| Just got a hold of my docs office. They said they will call me back in 10-15 minutes.. REALLY---- its 2:39 right now, and I can't wait anymore.. I feel very nauseous. My heart is beating. I think I am about to have a heart attack.. why can't they just talk to me now. sorry I am panicking. my husband won't even talk to me about this anymore. He states I am stressing him out. Which I know I am. HAPPY new years to me I guess. |

| Praying you receive good news. If your baby does require surgery, please know that many members here have been through it and their pups are doing very well. You will have everyone's support. Very happy to hear you have insurance.
