| Oh that is so absolutely wonderful!!! I am so happy he is okay. I have seen a couple of mine limp, but it was very temporary. One hurt a paw jumping against the kitchen cabinet, hitting the door pull. The other hurt the paw jumping in a shopping cart on the 'egg crate' structure, and now I always put a memory foam mat in any cart they ride in so no more toes slip into the holes and cause pain. I would love to see pix of your Loki.

| Oh such great news! I can imagine how relieved you are. Big difference from his spine is fused to nothing is wrong. Just a note: many of the folks here at YT feel that board certified vet are preferred for repairs etc that might need to be performed. Keeps us posted - looking forward to those pics!

| I just uploaded a pic of loki. Not sure how to use as my picture.. Updated: his still limping. His on two kinds of pain meds. The xrays looks great. Blood work (which was done on Sunday) came back 100% perfect. What is causing his limping.. We have a f/w apt on Sunday(coming up) and at that time I am going to a specialist. Can it be growing pains? |

| awww, so sorry your week has been so stressful. Waiting to hear from the vet is always so hard. Our news this week was not so great, pup is 2 months older than yours and broke her leg. We do not have health insurance so all around not a great week. It's amazing how these little ones take over our lives, it's nice we have a place to talk. My first Yorkie had a similar situation to yours when she was a pup. She must have jumped down from something and jarred something soft tissue that won't show on the xray. I would just encourage your puppy to take it easy for a week and see if it improves. Best wishes to you and your pup! |

| I am so sorry that your baby has a broken leg.. I am soooo sorry. insurance or not I would spend whatever on him to get it fixed(which I am sure you are) but its funny how money is not a factor once they need you. With that said, I wish you the best, and hope you find a vet that is willing to assist you guys. I decided to get Petplan for him about 10 months ago. Along with Pet plan insurance he has banfield wellness insurance. That paid for my x-ray, lab work and no charge for doc's visits. I did have to pay for both of his meds. Also, when I go to the specialist that will cost me, as they are not with banfield. I wish you the best of luck as well. Sounds like your baby is in great hand!!!! |

Okay let us recap and recoup for a bit your dog started limping 4 days maybe 5 days ago. He has basically been on crate rest and pain killers (hopefully an anti inflammatory). Your vet did Xrays. Now has your vet had the Xrays seen by an orthopaedic surgeon? In other words consulted with a specialist on the Xrays? If not find out why - and hopefully the right views were taken and for ease of transfer to the specialist they are in digital form(that is just irritating not so important) as your vet can courier the old fashioned Xrays over to the specialist. Okay starting from the paw, has your vet ruled out - pawpad or nail injury - metatarsal and or ankle joint problems, then the big one for Yorkies - the knees - Luxating Patella for a starter, okay and now we are up to the hip. Here we have the Xrays - did the vet do palpation of the hip joint - extend the hip - and flex the hip and move the joint all around? Now before we go on - it is quite possible that 7-10 days of crate rest with the anti inflammatories could do the trick --- I would ask for a referral to the specialist - get the name etc, but wait a few days more. I would if the vet has not had those Xrays reviewed by a specialist have the review done. Lets see what your vet says on the recall appointment. Lets hold out hope that it is a simple muscle strain.
