YT 5000 Club Member | I don't have any advice but wanted to say good luck on her sleeping better! We just got our Chloe Sat. and our other yorkie, Gidget, doesn't really like her either! I am hoping she will come around eventually though!

| She was taken away from her mother and littermates a little younger than most breeders would recommend. (Most recommend 12 weeks.) However, since it wasn't that much earlier, I don't know if it would have that great of an affect on her. She may just be a needier puppy and feel that your Harry is her protector and want him around. I'm not an expert, but I would just suggest that you do some mommy bonding time so that she can begin to associate you as her "leader" and protector. Good luck! |

| Just one more thing... she's in a new home and has a new playmate (whether he likes it or not!), so she may just get caught up with playing and forget that she does need some down time. What are your sleeping arrangements? If she won't go to sleep because she's too busy, I would force her to have some alone time, and like babies they'll just go to sleep. We had Olivia sleep in her crate for the first few months we had her home. We put a blanket over the front of the crate so that she wouldn't see movements and be stimulated. If she hasn't been in a crate before, her first few times will definitely involve some crying, probably a lot of crying, but don't take her out. (She'll probably cry bloody murder, but she's fine, just trying to get your attention!) I would try the crate thing at night for at least a few weeks until she begins to realize that she has to go by your schedule. |

| I have a new yorkie puppy too. My older girl is doing better with her every day. They have started playing together and she seems to not be as jealous of the new addition. We really tried to show her as much attention as we always did and included her in with the new puppy as much as possible. My vet says it takes time and to still not trust them totally alone for quit some time. As for sleeping I was lucky there. I have her in a play pen with puppy pads and she slept all night by the 4th or 5th night. On Saturday she even went over to the puppy pad in the xpen and went pee-pee on her own. I was like a new mommy, just thrilled. I had to call and tell my best friend and my brother the news. Hang in there and I'm sure it will only get better with time. Telea, Zoe' and new baby Mia |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It will get better! When I got Cali 4 months ago my almost 9 year old cranky pom hated her. This morning for the first time ever, Cali was sleeping on my pillow and the pom wanted to come up on the bed, which she hardly ever wants to and she went over to Cali and layed right next to her. The last day or so I have noticed she is watching the puppy and I play and just a change in her interest in the puppy. She still growls at her but she seems to be much more accepting. Good luck I am sure she will settle in just fine real soon.
