For us old timers, we know LJ's laudable work, and because of our long time standing on the board. Newbies do not know.

How-ever I don't believe LJ gets preferential treatment at all. She just knows the rules better, after all she has experienced the effect of breaking those rules at least a few times in the past.

Nobody here should get preferential treatment no matter your standing, your experience, or knowledge level, again IMO.

Do I need to go back and remind every-one of the RESPECT Thread?

ROFLMAO Indeed I have; and if my *fan*, who keeps complaining about me and making nasty remarks as he has (most of which have been deleted), does not watch it, he will have the same knowledge that I do of the rules. Not that I ever obsessed over anyone on the board the way that he is me. :rolleyes:

I must correct myself because I realize that it implied that Linda get preferential treatment this is not the case. I have always been an advocate for less confrontational posting styles but never at the expense of not giving the honest truth.

When I first found this site I was so excited! We had been given a little yorkie about 7 months earlier that was not in the best of health. I think it would be awesome if advice was offered, cause she has some good advice, and then just move along.

Why can't you do the same? Give advise and move on? Your posts keep getting deleted how can you not get that you need to just stop and let it go? I don't understand why you have to keep bringing up dead and gone things.

Because their feeling were hurt and hurt feelings don't just go away. Sometimes new threads bring up old wounds. We go round and round telling each other what to do.

This is why I don't come here much anymore, but the robot keeps sending a e-mail that they miss me, lol, but really, I don't feel like I fit in.
Yes Puppy Mills and some ByB's are bad, but some ByB's have knowledge and good stock too. But to pound people about ByB's when they ask a question about something else to learn makes people shutdown. I don't like drugging people or dogs for symptoms just to cover up the symptoms with out trying to treat the problem. Anxiety Disorder for example, I will post about ways to relieve and train the pup to accept your leaving, but only if that is the subject. I can't change the world, 8 pages now and still going, what could have been a good thread about getting more then one pup, pro's, con's and methods has turned into a playground hissy fit!

There are no good bybs what makes them bybs is that they are not breeding to better the breed and they are not doing the health testing. All bybs are bad period. Anxiety in at least people can be caused by chemical imbalance and the only way to treat it is by medicine. My dog had to go on anxiety medicine for about three months and I had tried absolutely everything but her anxiety kept her from being able to just be trained. How it should be with anyone with any anxiety dog or human you go on the medicine and then work on it while on the medicine and if you think you are find ways to handle it or deal with it then you can wean of the medicine but there are people who have to have the medicine to even function. I'm not sure what that has to do with this post though.

It had nothing to do with this post, just a example of one of my pet peeves, but as I said, I only bring it up if the OP asked and then drop it, not continue to pound it for 8 pages!!!

We ALL have pet peeves and we ALL have our own opinions. Where the problems arise are when people insist that theirs are the only correct ones. I feel that way at times and often must remind myself that just because something works for me does not mean it will work for another. :)

As for medications, I think I know why you mentioned it. Suffice it to say that no one method in working with dogs...or even humans for that matter is the end all.

No one should ever assume that they are the one and only who has ever dealt with anxiety, depression or other mental or physical issues. Just because we ourselves might not suffer with it does not mean we have not dealt with it in our lives before or with a family member, friend, or loved one. Everyone has an experience or a point of view to share.

Nothing is the same as experiencing it. Yes you may have a little more understanding of it if a family member has had it but still is not the same. This person feels that taking meds is the easy way out and that is offensive, hurtful and just plane false information. Do you know how many people don't take medicine for mental illness when they need it because it is an actual chemical imbalance in the brain because they think it's the easy way out. It's false information and just pushes people farther away from getting help when uneducated people say that.
