| Congratulations! Is this pup the Yorkie/Biewer mix you posted about the other day? Supplies can be many - Yorkie guide books, a great vet, Nutrical or Nutri-drops (incase of hypoglycemia), quality food, water/food dishes, kennel, safe toys, grooming supplies, a bed for the pup, etc. Potty pads if you plan on potty training indoors, etc Have fun!

| Bring some supplies for cleaning up in the car if your new baby gets carsick. I wasn't ready for Sebastian to puke all over my lookout seat on the console of my SUV. I stopped at a Walmart and purchased something to clean it all up. Chew toys, plush toys, pin brush (without the ball tips) for grooming, shampoo & conditioner (lots of threads on that stuff and recommendations here in the forum), dog food (your breeder should send you home with a small supply - decide what you'll feed so that you can mix the food in the first few days while you have breeder food).

Donating YT 30K Club Member | We brought Cali home in a small hard crate with plenty of blankets in it and we had a 3.5 hour drive so we stopped and gave her water a few times and the breeder had been giving her marshmallows(??) so we gave her a few pieces of that. I would use nutrical instead of that because they can get stressed out from the drive and all the changes. Good luck!

| I brought Samson home in a soft sided carrier that I bought at Walmart. I put a big blanket folded up inside so he wouldn't slide around. |

| You might also want to get an xpen so you have some way to keep puppy contained when you bring him home and pee pads. They sell the xpens at Petsmart. We found ours at Pet Supplie Plus if you have that. The Xpen was a life saver to us.

| If you are bringing home Trixie on your own (or will be driving her around alone in the future), purchase a car seat. She is going to be too cute, but please fight the urge to hold her if you'll be driving. She'll be small, but you can still put a harness on her (it will be loose.) The carseat will have a small leash that will hook onto her harness. That way, she'll be out in the open for you to pet and look at , and you'll know that (God forbid) if you should be in an accident, your baby won't budge from the seat. She will be too small and delicate to ever survive a crash. Along the lines of what Lisa (Carter's Mom) said, put a towel in the carseat. Olivia got sick in ours once and you wouldn't believe the amount of nooks and crannies in that seat! Let me tell you, I was digging puke out for an hour! Oh, and most importantly- don't forget your camera!! You'll want some pictures of her with her remaining litter mates and her mom, and I'm sure there will be hundreds of cute things she'll do in the 6 hour drive home! |

| I am truly an advocate of car seats for our pups. It is soooo distracting to have them climbing all over you when you're attempting to make a turn or change lanes. If you start them out correctly (just like a child) in their carseat, they won't want to be out of the carseat in the future. You should see all three of mine in there!

| I think everyone's listed everthing you will need for the puppy but I thought I would throw in one little extra thing for her first night home. If you are going to put her in a crate at night which is how my mom's did all her new puppies and how I've did my little girls, then it is a good idea to wear a unders**trt the day that you go to pick her up. So when you put her in her kennel at night then you can put the shirt in the kennel so she will feel like she's still close to you while she's sleeping. ~Just an idea~ Crystal |

| -a cage/crate for home -a carrying bag with blankets for the trip after you pick her up -toys (nothing too hard for her little baby teeth!) -food -treats -a bed for home (I wouldn't advise getting the "basket" kind...my pups always liked to chew on them when they were teething) -a collar and leash -shampoo and brush -food bowl, water bowl, placemat -puppy pads (if you are planning on using them)

| Great list, hunnybunny! The only other thing I'd recommend is a clicker and some info on clicker training. For the basics, go here: http://www.clickertraining.com/training/clicker_basics/ Click on the first article "What is Clicker Training?" When you finish there, have a look at this website: http://www.clickersolutions.com/arti....htm#behaviors If you scroll down, there is a section called "Puppy Training". Even further down is "SPT - Start Puppy Training" Happy Reading!
