ladyjane...I don't believe I was being condescending to anybody and if I was I do sincerely apologize. I did not claim that I am the only one who knows how to write properly because I am always learning something new all the time whether it is from my grown children or others. I have my own faults as I stated in my post. I don't want to go any further with this because no good will come out of it and that is not why I joined YT. If I offended you I am sorry. I am not offended at all. I was merely commenting on how everyone reads things in a different manner.

Sometimes we need to just step back, re-read and adjust our phrases, tone or words. That's just proper writing etiquette. You know how in an e-mail people get offended that others write in caps because they feel that you are yelling at them which may or may not be the case. Just remember that your tone cannot be heard in writing like it could be in person.

The bolded red statement is absolutely NOT true. Many of us have changed, and many of those to come here will change, they will learn and they will become educated and they will become better animal owners/breeders/lovers. There are many more better animal owners/breeders/ etc., here then NOT. Most of us here are here to make a difference, to bring about change.


My final statement on this thread is I am extremely disappointed that this has been made in to a YT opening thread in the General Section. This by far ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT represent the whole of YT. These threads that are being singled out are FEW AND FAR BETWEEN...I think YT represents a whole lot more than what is being headlined here.


It is a wealth of knowledge, education, experience, advocacy, support, POSITIVITY made possible by thousands and thousands of posts and threads where many of the members have contributed valuable time energy, research, experience and expertise in the fields of health, training, care, medical (experience and professional) emergencies and even fashion.


Additionally, it is a collection of views, schools of thought, training and beliefs meshed together to make YT what it is. YT is a place to learn and see all sides of every single aspect regarding Yorkies and MORE.


I for one agree that there are certain HOT TOPICS, especially when it is blatantly apparent that a pup is being NEGLECTED and or the potential for such. I agree there have been moments, but again in my view they are few and far in between compared to all the good things, posts, threads of YT.


That YT is so out of control that a sticky reprimanding a few threads is representing us to Newbies as an opening statement to me is wrong and I am astounded, what a shame and what a gross misrepresentation, in my eyes anyway....I feel very badly for all of those who have always contributed so MUCH of themselves on and off the boards that their few moments of shame are bringing them the most fame....Very Sad.

Ok...No problem then. All I want to do is learn more about this precious breed because this is the first time for me owning a Yorkie and also to educate my daughter with her Yorkie on things she did not know. I have had two Dachshunds and a German Shepard that I love and miss dearly and YT has been great for me. I am always learning and I want to make sure I do everything correct with Remy because he is such a special, loving and kind soul.

Yorkies are indeed awesome little pups! YT has so much wonderful information about them.

Yes, I totally agree with the statement regarding YT being a wealth of information which can be overshadowed at times. Why can't we all just move on and go about being contributing members of the community in whatever aspect we are capable without judgment being placed toward others?

I just found this thread because I haven't wanted to deal with the drama. I have learned so much and have recommended this site to many, especially those who have little experience with dogs and dog nutrition. However the recommendation come with a warning to ignore the drama and use the knowledge. I know I am not comfortable asking questions or even posting about my new babies.

I'm glad you felt comfortable enough to post your opinion, and I respect it . I hope you'll grow to feel more comfortable to the point where you're able to post more about yourself and/or your new babies - as I'd love to learn more about both! I am so surprised to read this! I have been a member for a few years, and admittedly, don't log on for weeks, or even months, at a time, so maybe I've missed all the negativity. Personally, I've never had anyone attack me, nor have I received any ugly or rude comments on any posts, or to any of my replies. I guess I've been in the minority, based on how many have comments to the contrary. I'm happy to remain a member, and have never really read anything truly negative written to another member. I feel that everything written here is done so in an effort to help, educate, and to lift up the Yorkies and their humans!

I would say your in the majority NOT the minority! The MAJORITY of threads on YT are positive, educational, informative and helpful...sometimes HOT TOPICs cause some short term chaos, but regardless of any of that, you will find thousands and thousands more positive threads than negative...and even that depends on what one feels/perceives to be negative...there will always be differences when you have so many diverse people in one place! Don't let this thread change your view....I'm not!!!
