| Mother Henning ^^; Anyone have it this bad? I'm happy to say Kimchi has adjusted beautifully to her new life with us, but I'm always stressing when she trips or falls over on our non-carpeted floor, especially when we play with her x.x;; (she's got fuzzy paws and has yet to learn to grip the floor) she's had a couple of incidents where she's fell and bumped her head (from her tiny height it's not much, but she does go down fast and get's dazed) or fell/jumped out of a lap and seem to land wrong (while sitting on the floor, of course) when moving around from play and cried out alot or just yelped. She's seems ok afterwards, maybe stunned or had a little boo-boo. Even though it's only been several days, I'm getting a little stress over it X.x;; She feels so delicate, that I keep having fears that she'll have some injury that won't show up till later from these events, even if they seem not so drastic. Just yesterday, I've been letting her out and checking on her every few minutes or so while I was cooking lunch, cause she really wanted out and I figured it should be ok as long as I check on her. She at one point was coughing a little and when i check the area she came from there was a corner of the rug that had threading pulled out X.x; I have watched/heard cases where strings can tangle up in the belly and yorkies her age having fragile bones, so I was having moments of panic, but I would check on her in her pen and so on to see if she becomes lethargic or other odd symptoms. So far so good. My mother doesn't seem as concerned over it and she's raised a couple of yorkies before (our Mick & Mandy), but they were a bit more "heftier" and bigger. So maybe I'm just paranoid ^^; Granted I'm not fretting over most of her "falls", just ones that seem to hit her around the head, or even if she lands wrong on her legs ><; I guess I worry cause she falls fast/hard for her height, she's always trying to run or move around fast, but flails around and lands weird. My mother mentioned she cried a lot when she fell out of her lap today but she picked her up and told her to give her a kiss and she did ^^; And I think that's why she isn't fretting like I was when I heard that X.x I even started to worry when she didn't eat as much as she originally started to (I had switch her to wellness core, which I understood was more richer than the puppy chow she's had). But she has still eaten her food, so I am relieved at that at least ^^; I'm glad that my older jack russell, Chloe, has taken to her, playing and sometimes even watching over her. (granted the younger jack, Mila, doesn't seem to have as much interest in her) She's been energetic and excited to be out of her pen every so often during the day, so it has eased some fears that she's alright. She's also had her first vaccine not too long ago, so any lethargic issues could stem from that. Anyone have serious mother henning issues? How did your furbaby fair and what did you do to ease the stress? X.x lol

| I lost 10 lbs the first month I had Magnus... I even slept in his "room" few times b/c I thought he might get sick. I was little more laid back with Zoey but her being so much smaller did made me nervous in other ways. And again, I slept in their room few times to make sure she was okay after any type of incidents. I pretty much just kept telling myself that s/he will be ok. And as they got older and stronger, my stress level went down as well. I think once you both go through the stages of first year vaccines and spaying (if you're not planning on having litters), you'll be a lot more relaxed. Try to relax as much as possible. They can sense things like that... |

| We keep the pads trimmed on ours, helps a lot with sliding issues. I would probably be really concerned if she fell from someones lap though, glad she is ok. Congrats on your new baby.

I keep telling myself she's tougher than she looks/feels and just keep an eye on her if she has sudden behavior changes (when she didn't eat as much I freaked some and left her food all day with her instead of giving at differ times, but I had to remind myself it's richer food) lol on the brighter side, losing 10lb could actually be great for me, just don't want the stress :P I guess cause she's so small I'm afraid of her getting squished. Our past male yorkie was small too, and got stepped on a lot and accidentally closed in a room. We had carpet then so he was very quiet, but hadn't worried if he tripped or something since the floor was softer. X.x but yea, I need to just take deep breaths and try to remind myself that it's not always as bad as it looks. Sometimes I panic enough to check her while she sleeps and try to check if she's breathing/still alive X_x; Hmm, I'll remember about getting her pads trimmed I normally wouldn't have minded the lap thing since we've kept to the floor, but when my mother mentioned she cried when she got out of her lap and landed badly, I was freaking out X.x;

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | I would definitely get her paws trimmed. Her pads are not making contact with the floor. . I would have people watch a little more when they are holding her on their laps. She really can get hurt falling from that height. If they are not going to hold her say sorry you can't hold her. I have done it many times ! Glad she is ok. . . Congrats on your little girl

| Hi, If I read right ,the two times she mentioned the pup fell from someone's lap or jumped to the floor the person was sitting on the floor and not from a height like a chair.

| lol oh nuuuooo, I would go berserk if she fell from something higher than being on the floor and would probably spaz out enough to rush her to the vet. When she's on the couch or other higher areas, she is carefully watched and has never fell off anything that high, nor does she seem to want to jump off those heights (thank goodness). It's just that she tends to land a little hard or wrong for her height (which isn't much) and occasionally yelps or cries from it (she probably hit her nose or eye on impact). She tends to not want to stay in the lap of other family members too long and basically tries to get out. She seems fine a bit later, but things like that just makes me worried cause she feels so fragile My best friend tells me that I shouldn't worry as much as I do, that they'll get little bumps and scraps here and there, just like human kids, but just to keep an eye on them. Everytime she yelps our jack russell, Chloe (the oldest), would come and check on her. I'm happy to say Chloe's warming up to her some and may sometimes play with her and the fact she's wanting to check on her sometimes, makes me feel at ease. Mila, our other younger jack, doesn't seem to have much interest in her. But yea, I'm glad it's a short jump too ^^;;; My main thing is I'm being paranoid and stressing over all sort of things cause I keep having this fear that this little baby is gonna hurt herself. If it was possible, I'd be one of those folks that would keep her in her pen or have her wrapped in bubble-wrap ^^;;

| Have you thought about getting a small carpet rug that you can put in the floor to play on? If it doesn't look good in your house you could always roll it up and place it in a closet for company. Just an idea! |

| We actually have an area that has rugs and blankets and she does like to go there, but she also likes to pee there alot X.x;; lol I gave her a bath last night and she's doing good, so little by little I'm easing up. Gonna trim her paws/ears up after I get home from work. Got one of the "pen" trimmers and am gonna see how well it works, since it's smaller and kind of quiet, figured it'll work well for now.

| Myself,I can understand your being worried abut her getting hurt. I have a little 3.5 lb dog and he is so tiny and fragile looking himself. And I just had him get a short puppy cut yesterday and he looks even tinier and more fragile than before. Then the groomer brought him in and either he jumped from her arms or she put him down from too high up and I was upset about that. I worry about that kind of thing too. He jumped from out of his pen one day after I got home and hit the floor and it was scary. He was too excited that I was home. So now I get hold of him before he can jump out of the low entry the pen has. You do need to be wary to some degree as they are so tiny. That's how I feel anyhow. |

| Glad I'm not the only one that spazes pretty bad lol I managed to trim down her paw fur and that does seem to help alot. She still trips a little when going fast or making sudden turns but she seems to have better movement. The little pen trimmers wasn't very good ^^; had to break down and use the trimmers that I use on people. I found it easier to do her paws than her ears lol (she wouldn't let me get her ears :P). I also used a #1 setting so that the blade doesn't directly touch her pads (they are so delicate) :3
