Grabbing the tongue is rotten, potentially counterproductive, and dangerous.

Galen does the same thing. . .he licks my hand as I am grooming. I tell him "stop lickies " . . If you are good I give you Cheerio! " that usually gets him.

Yes, she is a meanie, isn't she? She is six years older than me, and I remember when I was four or five that she would pin me to the ground with my legs over my shoulders and brush her long hair over my face--I felt like I was drowning! And I also have recollections of her grabbing my tongue when I used to stick it out at her, but those could be false memories based on my sympathy for poor Bella. I must remember to have a cookout the next time she comes to town, and put bitter apple in her steak sauce... Just kidding!!!

I realize this is an old thread but an interesting one, are there more licking threads around?

My dog is a licker just when I am in bed and he wants attention or to go out. I just hug him , put him on his side and provide belly rubs for him and he usually just forgets about the licking.
