| Learn from my mistake! :-( Back up all your pictures/videos from your cell phones in a safe place!! I cannot tell you how many pictures I had of vacations, occasions and everyday life I had on my android. But most importantly to me I had pictures and videos of my sweet little Bella (who we lost in February)....all gone now due to my stupidity! First of all I kept thinking I needed to save everything elsewhere to be safe but just "hadn't gotten around to it". I bought a camcorder and wanted to set it up with date/time but not record anything yet. I pulled my micro SD card from my phone and put it into the video camera long enough to program and then returned to my phone. NEVER did it occur to me it would reformat the card and delete everything. :-( I'm so upset...I have had the card scanned with software and some images are partial and recoverable but all of the videos I took of her are gone...and so is she! I love looking at her pictures but there is nothing like watching a video of her. I'm so mad at myself for not saving elsewhere but I'm more sad that I no longer have the videos to remember her by! I cannot tell you how many times throughout the day I would watch a short little recording of her. I miss her so much and now this just feels awful.

| Good options are to back them up to compact disc, and/or upload them to websites like Facebook, youtube, or Yorkietalk. |

| I am so sorry for you loss of Bella, and for losing precious photos and video. Did you happen to send photos or videos to anyone in a text or email from your phone? Maybe some family or friends could send some back, if you did. I upload to my computer often, and back that up to an external hard drive about once a month. Still, along this thought...... I encourage everybody to just take lots more pictures. I lost Meika in March, and even though I do have pictures, I wish I had take even more, plus some videos. I tend to put it off thinking I'll do it when they are perfectly groomed, etc., but heck I'd give anything to have videos of my Meika just being her normal silly self. Losing her suddenly made realize how important it is to capture the joyful moments while you can.

| After realizing what happened, I did go through all old texts and emails that were both sent and received and saved all I could find. I have recovered a good portion of the important pictures but have lost many random everyday pictures. Makes me sick! What bothers me the most is the videos I had of Bella...I had a bunch of short videos of her playing and on my lap. Pictures are wonderful but the familiarity of a video to relive moments is priceless. I cannot believe I've lost them. When I am having a tough time and really missing her I would watch them. It has helped ease the heartache at times...

| I'm sorry, that's awful. I use dropbox to back up my pictures and videos, I can access them anywhere with my loggin information and it's easy to use. |

| I know the feeling.... I've been so traumatized that now, I have backup of my backups. LOL I always advise my friends/family to get a external hd and make sure they back up pictures and whatever documents every month or so... |

| wow that is tragic, I up load my pics at the end of the day to my computer, then save them to my flash drive, I also have an external hard drive that backs up daily. Several years ago before having an external hard drive my computer crashed, I lost all my pics of every thing. That's never gonna happen again, I save then save the saved. My pics are to me to valuable to ever loose again. Hard lesson learned, so sorry for you, I know the feeling.

Have you tried taking it to a professional restorer? I say this because I can relate....my DH was power washing the pier today.....and fell in.....didn't realize he was that close to the end of it, gave one last yank on the hose went to turn around and take a step ....and in he went.... Cell phone and all. He fished his glasses out but are going to take the cell phone to some one who repairs.....tomorrow...we will see. Again i feel your loss, sooo sorry. | |

| Six years ago, my computer crashed....I lost all my thousands of pictures for my business, and like the IRS, all my income tax receipts related to my business. I stopped short of going crying to the FBI to try to get my info and pics back!!! NO LUCK!!! So.....I now back up everything with Carbonite and also an external thing called a black book or black box or E book or something....PLUS a jump drive......I am so sorry about you loosing all your precious memories.....it is devastating, I can only imagine how empty you feel........ |

| I'm so sorry you lost your pics and videos. When I was caring for my mother when she was ill, I took tons of pics and videos for memories. My phone crashed. I took it to a person that said he might could retrieve the pics and videos, but he couldn't. I lost everything.....all memories of that time period. It makes me sick to this day. Stupid me, I didn't realize I was supposed to back it up on Apple. That is when I learned about external hard drives. Well, 10,000 more pics down the road and now I can't access my external hard drive!! The company is sending me another one. They can retrieve my pics for $500!!!! Being the paranoid person I am, I've always backed up my back ups. I even use Dropbox and a flash drive. I'm just not sure if all of my pics from the external hard drive are on Dropbox. It's a tough lesson to learn. Thank you for posting. I'm sorry for the loss of your precious baby and for the pics and videos you've lost. I truly understand.

| You have not lost them. Dowload a recovery program. There are lots of them. If you do not know how to do it, a technician will do it for you. Sometimes you cannot recover all of them, but at least the most. There are even You Tube videos on how to do it. DON'T THROW AWAY YOUR CARD! Google has an excellent backup program. You just have to set your android phone and choose what you want to backup. I have mine set to daily backups, calendar, contacts, photos, etc. Check here: http:// http://www.zdnet.com/blog/di...r-sd-card/1102
