| Head Tremors On Dec 23 when I arrived home at noon, my Buddy did not come greet me. He finally staggered out of his kennel (open door to baby gated kitchen) and stood there with his head bobbing; he had trouble walking, did not kiss me and then curled up in a ball. I rushed him to the vet who advised I would probably need to travel to another Province (PEI) 6 hours away, the only place they do neurological testing. She kept Buddy to do a few blood tests to rule out some things. To make a long story short, I got to pick him up at 5:00pm, the head tremors had stopped, blood tests were all within normal ranges and although he was quite docile, he showered me with kisses. On Dec 28th, we took him back for a bile test to rule out Liver Shunts - again nothing showed up. I was so happy to have been off 10 days for the Xmas break and was able to watch him, my every waking hour. He has been fine ever since. In consultation with 2 Dr.s at the Vet and the PEI Veterinary Hosptial, their only suggestion was that he could have had a head trauma in the kitchen while we were gone (knocked his head on his kennel or kitchen wall as there is nothing else in there) or pehaps he ate something. He does go out into the yard and plays and digs, which he does every morning before we leave for work. This was very scary as you can imagine and Buddy seems totally fine now although it is scary not knowing what happened but reassuring to have all these blood tests done which indicate he is a healthy puppy. Has anyone else had this happen to their puppy? |

| Oh how scary!! Biddy once jumped and did almost a back flip anf landed on her head. He immediately collapsed and when she tried to get up she was exactly how you described - bobbing head, etc. She turned out fine, but it was scary as hell. I hope you get to the bottom of it & I'm glad little Buddy is feeling better!

| Boy you are right about being scary....Poor little guy. I will tell you that one of my guys will take his toys and in the process of trying to kill his toys, shaking it like a mad man he has hit himself in the head on the wall. Maybe something like that happened. It sounds like you have great vets and you have taken the pre-caution of testing for different things so hopefully this was a one time thing. Good Luck and keep us posted.

| I'm sure they checked Buddy for hypoglycemia? The only time that I can ever remember Toto acting similar was the one and only hypoglycimic "event" that happened a long time ago and has never happened again. It was our fault that it happened .... we were travelling, just let her sleep as much as she wanted and didn't make her eat [just let her do what she wanted]. I hope Buddy will be OK! Please keep us updated.

| I have had a dog in the past that exhibited the same symptoms. It turned out to be mild seizures. They didn't happen alot when he was young maybe 1 or 2 a year, but once he got older he would have them everytime he over exercised, or sometimes for no reason. Sorry about your baby and hopefully he will be fine.
