| Uuuuuuuuggggghhhh Well here we go again. Yet another critter has made its way to our home. For you who don't know, I live in the country and always have "visitors". Well tonight I go to let the dogs out. It is pouring outside. Mikki heads to the left, Rosie to the right. To the right is my flower bed which has roses and a huge nandina bush. And what comes out of my nandina bush?? A possum!! Of course Rosie decides to go after it. The poor thing was terrified. I'm running in the rain screaming at Rosie while Mikki sats and watches the whole thing. Bless her heart she never moved. What a good Mikki!! I finally caught Rosie and the possum went on its merry way. Sigh.....one more critter.

| That is very scary. Once a while ago, we had a little miniature pinscher. Let her out one night, heard a ruckus in the yard. We went out to find she had an opossum in her mouth shaking the heck out of it. The opossum was twice her size. She had no fear. This little dog was very stubborn and hardly ever did was she was told. I yelled at her to drop it and she did. She came up on the porch and the opossum waddled off. That was really scary. Took her to the vet and she didn't have a mark on her. I washed her mouth and body really well, because just the thought of it was disgusting |

| Good thing it didn't get her. Those things have some mean claws. My husband hit one with the car. It got in the wheel well and ripped out some wiring.

| Thank goodness little Rosie was the victor in that 'possum match. They are mean, nasty little critters that eat anything and everything. I can only imagine the filth carried in their mouths and the dangers of a bite. |

| Scary... I'm glad she's okay. As much as I love this breed, I have to say that's the one thing I don't like about them. They are absolutely fearless and it gets them into trouble! |

| I am a city girl. We moved to the country 6 years ago. And it's been one critter after another.

| Thank goodness you were able to catch Rosie before she caught the possum! Don't tell her that Teddy is impressed and would have gone for the chase too. Max would be like Mikki and keep a safe distance, although he would bark for support. Quote:

| We get possums from time to time on our fence. I have posted pics of my pups trying their best to get "Polly" the nickname I give all of the possums. They are not mean by nature. Here is a link with some FAQs about them: Frequently Asked Questions - Opossum Problems and Solutions ---------------- Some pics of our recent visitor. I worry more about poor Polly than my pups! | This happened to me a few years ago it was quite scary. I was so afrid the dogs were going to get attacked. I immediately went out and got a big rechargeable spot light that I keep by the back door. In the summertime I will go out first and do a quick scan of the yard before I let the dogs out. This light is soooo bright I can scan the yard practically standing in just two spots. Only takes about 30 seconds to do for peace of mind. Amazon.com: Black & Decker LEDLIB Lithium Ion LED...
