Really? Maybe you are correct about your pain meds that you mentioned in the game thread because if you go back to the following link you will see that you did indeed resort to name calling:

http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/4405435-post72.html

Matter of fact, what you said in that thread is a violation of YT rules. I think it was probably overlooked by the mods because of the MESS of that thread with all the colors and all .. and messy quotes.

Matese, I'd like to make a suggestion similar to the one xmasbaby made about the spell checker. I'd like to suggest the use of white space in between long paragraphs. Some of us are bordering on needing reading glasses and it's very dizzying to read your posts. I mean they are a little better without all the colored crayon usage. But, all I'm getting is that you're mad at LadyJane, you give Cody chinese supplements, you have absolute allegiance to your vet notwithstanding that Cody has diarrhea for 17 months without real help, and you want old members to make more of a comeback.

Pretty much sums it up.

Let's just take a deep breath here, I know I need one . Going in for tit-for-tat is going to get people nowhere, fast. Xmasbaby was basically responding to your prior post where you thanked someone for spell checking. Let's just leave all subsequent spelling comments at the door, unless they require clarification (as in the case of country vs county).

Clearly there are upset people on all sides here, so let's allow each other to be upset without taking personal digs, name calling, or getting hotly emotional. A person can be upset but remain respectful...maybe we can aim for that, even if difficult.

As far as your pup goes, I can only tell you what I'd do -- I'd be consulting with a specialist by this time - and I'd definitely be at the nearest vet school asap, as they contain some of the best experts, oftentimes.

It's well and good that you feel affinity and loyalty to your vet, but when problems exceed their ability - it's absolutely time to move to the next step. In my opinion, this situation far exceeds your vet's ability bc otherwise, the problem would not still be occurring. Also, keep in mind that many doctors, vets, nurses, plumbers, contractors or whomever will NOT necessarily admit when their abilities have been surpassed...some egos aren't built for that.

And at the end of the day, geesh, what do you have to *lose* by heading to a specialist? I can't think of a thing.

Well, thanks for noticing . Pointing out that you can't spell is not name-calling. However, saying to someone that they are a very foolish immature person is. There were other posts were you were name-calling as well, but they have already been deleted by the moderators since you continue to break YT rules.

Also, I wanted to clear something up. I never said that your vet thought Chinese supplements were a cUre for colitis. I said using them in this situation is not standard of cAre.
When I said pull my dog from my vet, I was meaning, I would have to stop using my vet for this issue and go to another facility and work with another vet Dr. (specialist) also “ladyjane” wrote specialists only work at vet schools, so now I am really confused lol
Thanks for the heads up on a specialist will work with my vet. As for the Chinese supplement that is being used to help his digestive system. Not being used as a means for a cure. Thanks for accepting my apology, really can’t understand why I wrote that, I must have really been tired that night. I prefer to work with just one person. Thank you again for this information, the more I learn, the more I know, the more comfortable I will be, thank you.

Good point.

Even if a vet is the best in the world, when a dog has a problem and needs to be seen, if he doesn't get seen by that vet (for whatever reason) then it's the same as having no vet at all.

And just another suggestion: IMHO a Urinalysis should be done and blood work rechecked every 6-8 weeks to ensure this pup is able to process needed nutrients from the food he eats. That happens in the intestines, when the intestines are chronically ill for a long time, nutritional deficiencies could result, and this will show up in the blood and/or the urine.

Also at this point in time, a endoscopic exam and biopsy to see and test would be worth doing. And send a stool sample to an off site lab for testing and culture. Off site labs do more thorough testing than can be done in any vet clinic.

Thank you for clarifying,... I do make typos, I am not perfect, never said I was and never will be when it comes to typing lol.... now I have a NIT PICKER commenting on a word misspelled lol, this is becoming a comedy show

I think I understand... is this it: Your vet gave you this dog thinking it was healthy. When it was learned that the dog had a problem, the vet stepped up to foot the bill and make the dog well again. So really the vet is 'in charge' of this pup's healthcare, he's just living with you because a home environment is better than a hospital environment for healing. I'll assume when he recovers, he will be completely in your care and your financial responsibility, as in Your dog. Am I close?

Whoever said that veterinary specialists are only found at universities was incorrect. They can also be found at some animal hospitals, clinics, and even in private practice. Here is the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine search page for veterinary specialists:

Find a Specialist

The search engine is very specific, so it's easiest to just put in the specialty (SAIM, or small animal internal medicine, in this particular case) and the state. The list generated will be small enough for you to find the closest specialist to your location. That said, it's still always best to get a referral from you own vet, whenever possible.

It sounds to me as if your vet is treating symptoms. In my experience with specialists, they get down to the nitty gritty from the start, do testing and come up with a diagnosis, and then a treatment plan. While it is more money up front, you can save money in the long run because you won't be going to the vet as often.

No one said that! She (Matese) said that I did, but if you look at the above quoted post of mine you will see that I already (early on) gave her the same link.

Best not to believe everything that is being said here because there are so many wrong statements it is incredulous! The OP does not even remember things she said and has contradicted herself over and over. This is probably going to go down as being one of the most confusing threads in YT history.

I won't go to any ortho surgeon but Dr. Brian Beale at GCVS...he is amazing! GCVS has all of the latest equipment and can do anything A&M can do (and if they could not, they would refer out). And, honestly a couple of the vets I have used many times....I go back to the same ones. I won't see the same people over and over at A&M. So...not always my first choice, nor is it my first suggestion to others.
The OP already has concerns and honestly a good hospital with board certified vets can do the same and sometimes better than a vet school imho.
Pstinard, here is another post I made regarding that wrong statement. I never EVER said that specialists are only in vet schools. Maybe if you go back and read this thread some of this will become clearer to you so you can know what you are posting about. Trust me, you cannot just believe everything being said here.

lol this is all to very funny to me, instead of looking for new posts and trying to help other ppl, you sit at your computer and write nonsense. so lets go over the nonsense, Now YOU want long spaces after a long paragraph, you mean like in a hard cover book? And you want these longgg spaces because you don't want to buy reading glasses even tho reading makes you dizzy. Did you write such a memo to the editor of your local newspaper regarding newspaper should have larger print because I can't read small print and do not want to buy MUCH NEEDED READING GLASSES. oh, wait, you don't read the news paper, got it. Have you notified all others that post of your reading issue or you are just singling me out? IF you read what another poster advised about colors, you would not have to throw that in. What in heavens name does ladyjane have to do with long spaces after long paragraphs? Who is ladyjane? I don't know her to be MAD AT HER, and if I were MAD AT HER what business would that be to you? iyiyi, Sorry if I offend you because I have trust in my vet, at least I have a vet I have been using since 1980, not like Cody's prev, owner that let her fingers do the walking in the yellow pages when Cody needed any kind of medical attention. I now have his medical file, this person never used the same vet 2 times. Sorry that I am using the BEST VET IN MY COUNTY, guess I should use the WALK IN vets .lol this one really tops the cake, ole members lol, OMG just to, to funny. I do not know new members let alone ole members, I don't care if they come back or not, in fact I don't care if you even come back, so here is what I suggest to you, go take your dog / dogs for a walk, you need FRESH AIR TO CLEAR YOUR HEAD, must be no oxygen in your house, this post of yours shows me this. Get air, cleanse head, go help ppl that need help.
