Yorkie Talker | ![]() @mimimomo-- I didn't read all of that !! again --- I had no idea that mating with a friends yorkie would be such a major ordeal ! I think I have gotten all I need out of this site.. and will figure out how to disconnect from it ! I have never dealt with such rude people! Some were very nice and helpful -- others are way to uptight !! |

Yorkie Talker | ![]() Lovetodream88 -- my dog is a "full breed" I saw his mother and father, and again his father is AKC -- mother wasn't "registered " but is a full breed !!!! they have "nothing else in them" they aren't muts.. like what you are making them all out to be -- they are full blooded.. Mom, Dad, Grandad, GranMa are ALL YORKIES -- that is FULL BLOODED !! regardless of the 'registration" |

Yorkie Talker | ![]() @yorkiemom -- No holes in the pedigree I have looked!! His Mom wasn't registered and his Dad was, but in order for AKC to "register" puppies both parents have to be AKC... My friend has his Mom & Dad they are both full blooded. My other friend who is wanting puppies off of my male, her puppy is AKC... With all the talk of him marking his territory getting worse, I may not breed him at all. I can't take much more of that! thank you for your honest and nice post. Some people are here are really mean !! |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | ![]() Here's the "nut" of why your request for insight has so many folks bothered. While we all feel our pets are THE BEST Yorkie ever, it's a fact that shelters and rescues are already overburdened with animals whose owners can't keep/don't want them anymore. By breeding your male, you possibly continue that trend. PLEASE, read the posts here with a cool head before assuming we're all a bunch of uptight Yorkie owners. Mimimomo posted very good info and links that I hope you'll read as well.

Yorkie Talker | ![]() @normarea63 - We would NEVER sell, one of our puppies to anyone who cause it to eventually end up in a shelter. We would only ever make sure our puppies went to homes just as loving, clean, safe and friendly as ours. |

| ![]() But that is what destroys the breed all of us here love so much and it produces sick pups that have to suffer there whole life with genetic illnesses.

| ![]() I think it's important to stress that even tho the mating pair has a clean bill of health, they can still pass on the inherited disease(s) if it's in their genes. W/that said, I am in no way supporting your decision to stud out your boy, wish you would reconsider, but it's your dog, your choice & it sounds like you're going ahead w/it anyway. This is a forum of dog lovers & in any dog forum, you will get strong opposing opinions about breeding. Unless your dog was Championed, sired by Champions or has an impressive line in his/her pedigree, you have no business breeding your dog. I am talking to everyone out there that wants to breed their pets.

| ![]() In no way did I mean to insult you. It sounded to me from what you posted that you were misled about your dogs origins. You said, that you were told he was AKC and then received CKC paperwork. If that was not what you meant, then I apologize. At the end of the day, I know what you mean about everything sounding rude and mean. Your puppy is PERFECT in your eyes, the same way my Yorkie is perfect in my eyes. Not one person is insulting your dog. All that nonsense on testing, bettering the breed, and on and on and on.... It's all part of studding. Studding is a business. There's an exchange of goods and money that happens. It's all part of what you charge for. It sounds mean because as part of the business you have to think of all of this and be slightly detached in order to produce the best product. I've seen how breeders talk about their pups and they don't say "pampered" and "spoiled" like you and I would. My perfect pooch is spoiled and pampered too. ![]()

| ![]() I know you might not understand now because you are new to breeding. But I breed my pair and had a first litter. Is not as easy as it sounds aside from the genetic testing, I would recommend it because you don't want any puppy's being born sick and dyeing shortly after birth and the dams mother coming after you. As to him being one he is too young my two year old stud had trouble mating as to he dirint know what he was doing. It took my expirienced mentor to come over and help me get them to tie. Also your friends must know there's not much money to be made they will be lucky if they come out even. Example- my female had one pup - cost- csections, X-rays, whelping supply cost, vet during pregnancy. After birth female dirint care for puppy's because of c section. I dirint sleep for days supplementing the puppy. It hasn't cost me hundreds I'm well in the thousands lucky I have my daughter who is keeping her if I was selling I would be probably -negative thousands yes im not lyeing. Open your eyes it's not that easy besides I've seen studs online akc registered being studed for as low as 300-500 I saw you live in Florida look online. Or pick of the litter what if the dam has one that will be a battle between you and the other folks some people even make contracts to be sure they go thru. It's vary complicated. If akc are being studed for 300-500 how much would no registrations be studed for? No testing? Not much get him neutered the marking gets terrible believe me.
