| ![]() I only have one little girl who is close to five years old, but she joined our family at three and was raised with several dogs. I hope someday to add another little one for Katie's sake to our family. I loved when we had three little girls. I can't wait to see your new baby. I agree about carefully selecting a breeder. It makes such a difference in the health and temperament of a pup. |

| ![]() Looks like I have officially found my 2 babies! My little girl is 5.5 months old, and I will be picking her up on Friday! I will post updated pictures after I bring her home, but here is a pic below from her owner posted first. The 2nd pic is the baby boy. He is now 7 months old. I found the breeder through a referral. She is located in Cali so I will have him brought home via courier in about 2 weeks. We havent finalized payment yet, but she is willing to work with me on the courier price which enables me and my hubby to afford him. Should be a done deal soon, I am hoping! I think he is just so stinking cute! The last 2 pics are of the little man's parents. I am so excited! |

| ![]() Oh they are absolute dolls! Do you have names yet? I got my Dolly when she was 5 months & she's the most friendly & well adjusted dog you'll ever see. I often wonder if it's because she was with her pack for so long. I'd love to hear a little more info about the pups, especially why they're just a bit older than most pups who are brought home? At this point you might have a pretty good idea of how big they'll get? How did you find them? Good luck & have fun!!

As far as how I found them. The little girl, we are adopting (for a small fee), from a nice local couple. She is not with her breeder. She was purchased from the breeder at around 13 weeks. She is only 2.5lbs now, small, but healthy. The little boy I have known about for a while. I was referred to his breeder through a different, more local breeder. Although he is exactly what we are looking for, I had thought there's no way we'd be able to get him. He is at the top of our price range and then with courier service was $400 more than that top amount. After talking with the breeder a while and hearing all about him and his personality, then I really wanted him more and was sad we wouldn't be able to. She has had several people come by to see him and the other puppies and he has been passed by for females, smaller males, or younger puppies. His size is perfect to me though as he is expected to be around 5-5.5lbs fully grown. Anyhow, after the last lady who stopped by the breeder's place passed him by for a smaller male, she got back into contact with me offering to reduce the price $400 so that with courier service we could get him within our budgeted price. I am ecstatic! Again, we have absolutely no desire to create accidental litters of puppies so I want to reiterate point (to any of those who suspect that we have those intentions because of getting one male and one female). We will be getting them spayed/neutered accordingly. We definitely didn't set out to get older puppies, but sometimes things work out differently than what we plan and what other people expect. | ||

| ![]() They are beautiful! I have two experiences with older dogs, and they were/are so wonderful. My first breeder fell in love with Gracie, and she hoped she would get big enough to breed. At 6.5 month, when our little one was still very tiny, she gave her to us. We had two of her pups already, and Gracie was only a year older than our oldest, Ashley. There was always something a little more special and unique about Gracie--not just her beauty, but a temperament I had never experienced in my lifetime of having multiple dogs. She was very friendly, but she was a little shyer because she didn't have as much socialization as Kiwi and Ashley. After we lost all three (Ashley was very close to 17), we waited almost two years to bring another baby into our lives. Katie is such an amazing little girl with such a wonderful temperament. She was raised in a home setting by an outstanding show hobby breeder who is also a world class trainer. Katie finished her championship at fifteen months in four shows, but I'm sure that helped in her socialization. Katie absolutely loves people! She was used to many trips to the park to play, road trips, and play time outside in their backyard. Katie was retired early from breeding at the age of three, and she is the happiest, most loving, and confident little girl. Seeing how easily she adjusted to her new home and how confident Katie is, I can tell how much love she was given by her first mom. Katie has really brightened our hearts and our home. I wish you the kind of happiness from your two little babies that Katie and her Rainbow Bridge sisters have brought to our lives. I can't wait to watch them grow up and hear the joy you will have with them. Last edited by lisaly; 02-10-2014 at 09:37 AM. |
