| ![]() I am assuming that you have not seen both parents? Are you familiar with the pedigree or the background of the parents? I know you are only looking for a pet but knowing about the ancestors of the parents will give you a better idea of what you can expect from your puppy as it gets older. There are a lot of genetic weakness being bred into Yorkies these days. Did they tell you what kind of health testing they have done on their breeding stock? Have you been to the place where the dogs are bred? Did you find them through an online search? Almost all online searches for purebred dogs are puppy mills or brokers. They come up on a search because of the high numbers of dogs they deal in. There are certain key words that these people use. "Baby doll face" is one marketing ploy along with "tea cup" and "miniature." Please be careful about who you are dealing with. You could be opening yourself up to a lot of heartbreak. There are "sticky" threads throughout YT that you might be interested in ready. They are quite informative. The "Yorkies for sale." area has a good one about buying a Yorkie puppy. |

| ![]() Sorry if this is a double post. Something happened when I tried to hit reply last time and I had to login again so I am retrying. Quote:
No, I did not find them through an online search. I was referred by a friend about these puppies. I have only been in communication with this breeder for one day so I cannot tell you yet what the home they are raised in is like; however, I can tell you it is NOT a puppy mill. I have waited for the past 8 years to bring home another baby yorkie, and I have been actively searching for around 2 months and if I don't like what I see/find out when I go to meet her on Friday, then I won't be moving forward and leaving a deposit on her. I have not problem with walking out and saying "no". Also she did not describe them as teacup or babydoll face. I just used that word "babydoll" as a descriptive adjective pertaining to the size of the muzzle. Also, I have not seen the parents yet either, only photos of both of them. I will be able to on Friday. One thing I never have been aware of was the suggested 12 week bring home age because of socialization. 2 of my past yorkies were brought home at 10 weeks if I recall correctly. Another wasnt until 12 weeks. They were all fabulous, but I do have to admit that my Abby who was brought home at 12 weeks always had a truly special place in my heart. I appreciate all the information on this site I have gotten so far. You guys are fabulous! | |

| ![]() If they are well socialized and healthy 10 weeks is fine, I know a few reputable breeders who will let their pups go after 10 weeks |

| ![]() But they will miss out on two very important weeks with there mom and could miss out on and have problems with socialization and bite inhibition.

| ![]() Sending prayers your way for a beautiful healthy puppy. They can do so much to fill up our empty nests when the kids leave home. My kids swear my pups are more spoiled than the grandkids are lol.
