| Do you have a hearty eater? I do. I'm considering entering Rico in a competitive eating contest . He eats his, tries to eat Coco's, then patiently waits in the kitchen to see what's coming out of the oven. He's currently 7.5 lbs, tall, long and lean. I'm waiting for his first birthday to submit his teapot application.

YT 2000 Club Member | Gosh, darn he is CUTE! I have hearty eaters.....3 of them! My three would eat the kitchen sink if they could! LOL When people talk about picky eaters, I really don't understand as mine always are begging and eat all their kibble. One is barely 3 pounds and she would eat until she burst!

I know! If there's food to eat, you could throw all the balls you want and squeak every toy in the house, he could care less about playing. On the flip side, at least my picky eater has learned she better eat her share cause the "Vacuum" has his eye on her bowl!

| That's a handsome pup! Our old man was sorta picky when we first got him 6 months ago but once we found food he liked, stand by and out of his way when it's feeding time. LOL |

| I think Gizmo goes beyond hearty eater :-) its probably due to the person I rescued him from, that was starving him to try to make him a micro by stunting his growth. He will eat pretty much anything and we have to put him in his pen at our meal time, or we will end up with a yorkie in our food lol. He is totally food obsessed which is kind of sad, to think what must be in his mind to feel like he has to hurry and eat everything available, because I think he's worried about starving again, he even hides food and treats in a bunch of different places, i think just in case. We've gone through a couple different brands of food though, because he seems to get tired of them, so we switch back and forth between royal canine and wellness for kibble. Right now he's back to eating his royal canine yorkie kibble, mixed with half of commercial Raw. He really seems to love this combo. He will also ration his pee to get more treats, than if he just did one big pee and got one treat :-) today he ate both of his regular meals, snacked a bit on my husbands apple, ate the carrots out of hubby's dinner salad, along with a few pieces of lettuce, had many tiny pieces of treats for potty on the pad and out for a little walk (since he learned how to pee less and more times, I have learned to give tiny pieces of his treats to account for this lol), and he had half a sweet potato and pumpkin teething ring from n-bone, which are amazing for teething pups. That's just to give you an idea of what his daily eating habits are :-) the vet said all his bloodwork is perfect and he is super healthy at 5.2 lbs and will be 7 months old on the 5th or 6th of jan. :-) I couldn't believe he ate all that with just having 5 baby teeth pulled just the evening before last as well as getting fixed and microchipped, he's definitely back to himself !!!!! So yes my Gizmo far out weighs the hearty eater lol, but I always make sure everything is healthy he eats and never eats anything bad for him. Oh and I also hide little bits of kibble through out the house as he likes to search for food, and that is the only way he will eat the kibble by itself hahaha. My husband is mostly to blame for the sharing of salad and such, because Gizmo has him wrapped around his little paw. I tell my husband to stop it, and he says well let him look at you with those eyes and say no lol. I actually do exactly that, I tell him no, but hubby is creating a monster I think. I do give him frozen veggies as well :-) the vet did say his BMI is perfect though, so who am I to complain right? It's by far better than the situation I rescued him from starving, and I don't think he will ever lose that food obsession because of it. Last edited by Sunnydayz; 01-01-2014 at 08:09 PM. |

| Callie is a very picky eater but my moms rescue yorkie is piggy boy we kinda wonder if he was not fed well before we got him. He always eats too nothing stops him. Callie and Sammy always get a little boiled chicken on Sunday for there Sunday snack and when my grandma is cutting it up he will make these squeaking noises like someone is killing him. The funny thing is it is only when there is chicken being cut up.

| Kaji is a very good eater. I might venture as far as saying he's an over eater. I measure his food otherwise he turns into a porky Yorkie. We can't have that with his bad knees!! there can be no mention of food or any meal time names without Kaji being excited and racing you to the kitchen. Kaji is ALWAYS ready to eat. Strangely, he is picky if that makes any sense. Kaji does not go for any dog treats, like the milk bones or whatever generic treat is out there. Kaji prefers cucumbers, lettuce, raspberries, all sorts of fruits and veggies, fruitables, freeze dried Stella and chewy treats, and some liver cookies from trader joe's. Other than that, he won't touch anything that is dog food outside of his kibble.

Banning Thread Dictator Donating Member | Rico is adorable. The Teapot Club anxiously awaits his first birthday. I have 2 good eaters. They check each other's bowl when theirs is finished but always walk away disappointed. I always arrributed it to regular mealtimes and no free feeding.

| Ian should have been named Hoover, Kirby, or Dyson! He is not picky when it comes to food, and would over-eat if we were not careful! We have to measure all of his food, and only give fresh veggie treats. Our first fur baby, Prince, was very picky and had to be hand fed...by his daddy. For some reason, he would not eat from me. I guess we all have our designated roles. We use a Kong Wobbler for his kibble to slow down his eating.

| What's really funny is the sec someone makes a move for the kitchen, he's right there. The cutest is when the fridge is open, he's right between your legs looking around as if he were thinking "um, what snack should I have? What could I reach?" LOL. Love him to pieces!
