Well, you would find spaying and neutering cruel and criminal now wouldn't you, that is the most extreme point to make isn't!

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() Wow - Kim..SoCal...you think people are lazy, insensitive, uncaring, irresponsible, or stupid for neutering their pet ??? ![]() Many people are SCARED to spay or neuter because of this kind of posting against it...it's not that they don't care or are lazy ! I really have to agree with Mone't - EVERY single time this subject comes up you go to great lengths to post your views .....Look at the Posts in this thread ..to me - your citations and research aren't quite up to par... considering the source you just cited - No OFFENSE but as an attorney ...I would think you'd be a bit more careful who you quote or copy into posts.... In my opinion .... sometimes less is more....Why not just say YOU don't believe in it and move on ?.....I have to think that the majority of this site is PRO Spay & Neuter and wonder why so many posts go unchecked on this subject.

Villette, I agree sometimes less is more (I'll have ot remmeber that one). Let's just move on. Things have been going so good with the debates. Let's not forget to keep this to a 'non-personal' level. PLLLEEAASE!! Hugs all around!! ![]() ![]()

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() I understand the mistake on taking info without checking into the sources - (that one was pretty funny actually) ...we all need to be careful when we quote outside sources - but I just really don't think anyone should be called lazy for having an altered pet.... no debates - just an opinion. |

| ![]() Well.. I wanted to let everyone know that I am not lazy and i did not want to get sami & Ted neutered for all the wrong reasons! I have heard all the terrible stories about what they have to endure and did not want neither of them to be harmed, injured or suffer. this is why I am asking for the proper direction into making a choice. and after reading alot of everyones experience it does sound like it depends on the pet. So I am taking alot of the advices that will benefit sami & ted! I just dont see a reason not To if it will help keep both of them safe from possibly having cancer down the road because I choose not too! and any other possible problems, and if it can stop the boys from "marking" all over their home this would be an added plus+ and It's not that I mind keeping an eye open all the time to catch them at lifting their legs, which there is no purpose in that! right? you break out the bucket and brush and start scrubbing I don't have anything better to do! The problem is If I dont see where they marked then my home will reek with urine. and Im not sure that it doesn't already? My furniture ruined and have to be cleaned repeatable. So I thank everyone for your much needed information on this matter and apologize for the neutering question! Maybe administrator could have a area that all the older posts on repeated problems such as this one could always be visable instead of having to bump it? I think it would help so we do not have repeat offenders ![]() |

Just because the guy has some wierd beliefs does not mean that his ideas and points on neutering lack ALL credibility. I may have picked the wrong source for my post today but there are plenty of well respected veterinarians who feel that routine s/n is not in the best interests of all animals and that pet owners just need to be more educated and not just blindly think it is the "right" thing to do when they may be doing their pet unnecessry harm. Dr Stephen Blake, the Pet Whisperer is one such vet I can cite. Do none of you feel compelled to look into less invasive procedures now or to research what types of cancers occur more often in neutered animals than in intact animals...what about incontinence in females? What about working dogs or dogs who do agility and other athletic events? Are they hindered in these endeavors and lose some of their natural drive when they are neutered? What about simply the fact that we would play God and remove parts from an animal unnecessarily. Parts that science has proven that they need to function properly, not just sexually, but in life in general. If you want to ignore all else because this particular citation turned out to have some unusual beliefs in other areas then so be it, but I would hope that some of the more open minded members had their eyes opened to at least research the matter and maybe consider "everything" before deciding what procedure, if any, is best for their pet.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | ![]() JBarile - you don't have to feel bad for asking questions - You asked a really good one - and it just got off track...lots of times that happens but you can sift through what doesn't help you and keep what does help you .....though I can see the original questions got completely sidetracked here. It's good that we have repeat threads on certain subjects ...there are always new people reading....I hope your original questions were at least answered ?
