I read it all...trust me, it was quite disturbing. I understand the point maintained by others that it is unnatural and why force something unnatural on a living creature. This was this guy's point, which is fine. What I took from it was that this can create many problems such as chemical imbalance, problems from anestesia, and that you shouldn't s/n just because it is conveninent and you want to. My problem with the guy and his site were this: if he is so worried about a procedure being done that affects the natural balance of the animal, how freaking NATURAL is it for you to be so close to a freaking wolf and live with it!?!? That isn't natural!

I respect your opinion.

This is WHY I posted the citiation to the webste....to enable everyone to do their own research. I feel his points are more than valid and should at least be known.....I mean who wouldn't want to know that there are alternatives that may be better for our pets?

You may choose to put zero weight in his opinions but, while I certainly don't agree with having sex with wolves, I do feel that he has SOME valid points about routine and unnecessary neutering.

That's absurd ...how can someone argue not to neuter/spay dogs when they practice beastiality seems like he has a reason for them to stay intact if you ask me..JMHO though....I won't and can't listen to someone who is so EEEEEW, yuck!

Irene, I am glad that you take stock in that..However, I feel that if you aren't s/n your own animals, or vaccinating them..Continuing the preaching, and the shoving of the same info on folks who s/n and vaccinate then you are trying to push your beliefs on others, not share an opinion! Sorry, but that is JMHO on the whole thing.

How many of you saw the show "Show Dogs" where the woman with the German Shepherds was trying to get her dogs to mate in the vets office and the vet techs had to "manipulate the male" so to speak.

I don't think vets who get semen from dogs or other animals for artificial insemination are considered to be "having sex" with them any more than this guy is. He is certainly not talking about "intercourse" for goodness sakes...let's not go overboard here.

What about those of us who don't believe in routine s/n? Are you not pushing your views on us when whenever you call us "irresponsible"?

I specifically phrase my posts to make sure that no one thought I was pushing my views on anyone, I was merely giving people some food for thought and asking them to make their own educated decisiosn on what is best for their beloved pet. I even said that sometimes neutering IS best for the animal. It depends on the situation.

I don't think you read my posts carefully enough if you feel I am "pushing my beliefs onto others" any more than the pro "routine s/n" members are. I haven't called anyone lazy, insensitive, uncaring, irresponsible, or stupid for neutering their pet, but I feel that in some instances, this is the case.

They would rather not bother with the hassle of the heats and the leg lifting and being responsible enough to supervise and to provide adequate containment to prevent unwanted pregnancy so they take the "easy way out for them" and have the poor dog's God given parts removed permanently. That should be considered cruel and even criminal in my book. I mean if we are supposed to be looking out for the best interests of our pets, how can routine neutering be in their best interests when they could have a tubal ligation or vasectomy or be responsible and contain them like responsible pet owners should?

Did you read the link here? The part about beastality, sounds like he is indeed talking about himself having intercourse with animals.

SoCal...Lets just say that was a poor example of someone to quote and leave that nut in the cave he probably lives in.

I do wish we didn't see so many anti spay neuter posts - we have to remember there are LOTS of guests reading ....and while it's a matter of personal choice - making it sound terrible defeats YEARS of advise from Vets and the ASPCA to get your pets spayed and neutered and keep the population down.

Can anyone imagine if people didn't try adhere to this ?
