Dr Stephen Blake, the Pet Whisperer is one such vet I can cite.
Do none of you feel compelled to look into less invasive procedures now or to research what types of cancers occur more often in neutered animals than in intact animals...what about incontinence in females? What about working dogs or dogs who do agility and other athletic events? Are they hindered in these endeavors and lose some of their natural drive when they are neutered?
What about simply the fact that we would play God and remove parts from an animal unnecessarily. Parts that science has proven that they need to function properly, not just sexually, but in life in general.
If you want to ignore all else because this particular citation turned out to have some unusual beliefs in other areas then so be it, but I would hope that some of the more open minded members had their eyes opened to at least research the matter and maybe consider "everything" before deciding what procedure, if any, is best for their pet. |
What does a Pet Whisperer do? DO he whisper to the animals...do they whisper back!!! What do they tell him?
