| Mine go crazy when anyone even gets near the door or they hear a car door slam outside. I am glad that they warn but sometimes their welcoming party can be overbearing for people that aren't used to dogs. If I am expecting company I put them in my room and they don't even bark whenever anyone walks in. Then I take them out later and they are much calmer. They are my own personal welcoming committee always happy to see me

| Two males that freak out at the mere thought of someone being in our yard. Three if you count my husband who then freaks at my boys. I will definitely try the door chimes and weird phone ring to see if that helps. Thanks for the ideas. |

| Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Crystal honks away with great gusto, recoiling like a little Howitzer going off. We live in a Penthouse Apartment, so to open the downstairs front door we have to pick up a handset, identify the caller and press the release button. As soon as I reach for the receiver she stops immediately! Amazing self control really, or it that she just wants to hear who's there? She's extremely nosy by the way. As a child I remember a neighbour, who lived opposite called Mrs Coltart. She had one of those kiddies cardboard sliding periscopes that were common 50 plus years back and used to watch us and others from behind her sofa! I used to 'blind' her with a mirror dazzling the offending snooper. My father wanted to depth-charge her! Crystal would do the same if she could I'm sure... |

| YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I am going to try out those Ichimes. But the worst the very very worst is when the mailperson comes to the front door. It does not help at all that he walks 1.5 ft past our front window to go deliver mail to the next door neighbour. They literally go ballistic, both of them! I have asked the mailperson not to walk over my front lawn, and they just smile and say sure Ma'am, and then a week later they are back to doing it again. Balderdash I say!

| YT 2000 Club Member | My boys bark until they find out who is there. They are just guard dogging. If someone strange ever comes around I will be thankful for those barks. Don't need a security alarm system when you have Yorkies! |

| Same here. Doesn't matter whether it's the real thing or TV. And he keeps it up until I look out the window in the door. |

| Gizmo does bark if someone knocks or rings my doorbell, or even hears someone out walking near my town home at night. Because we live in a nice beach community, I highly encourage him, because it is a prime area for burglaries. His barking alerted us a couple weeks ago in the middle of the night, and we woke to find a stranger out in common area of the property with a flashlight, who we quickly called the police for. As soon as I say it's ok Gizmo, he stops barking. He's just protecting his and our home, and I am glad he does, as my husband is a firefighter and works many nights where I am home alone :-) he's a blessing to me, as I know a stranger would rather go to the house with out a dog, then the one that is drawing attention by continuos barking :-) I am so proud of him that he does protect our home, and stops barking when he knows everything is ok :-) I give him a treat for the warnings so he knows he is doing the right thing. The funny thing is, his bark sounds much bigger than he is when he's doing a warning bark, yet it's super a super cute little bark when he's playing, so I can tell the difference :-) |

| I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | So far it's working great. It's in the hallway, and I can manually ring it whenever I want, and this really helps them in learning the sound isn't associated with the front door.

| Mine go cuckoo when a regular phone rings be it on tv or at someone's house. Probably because it's not a familiar sound to them. Don't have a doorbell but I bet they would |
