| It's an infection on the eye lid and minor scratching on the eyeball (forgot the medical term for eyeball, lol) anyway, eye drops and some orally taken antibiotics and doc says he should be fine. And of coarse , if not better in a week come back and see him. |

YOu should see it now. The dr put some drops in his eye to do some test and now it looks like green puss is coming out because of the color of the drops. lol | |

| Poor boy. I'm sure he will heal quickly with the meds. If he is pawing still, I would keep a cone on him. Max had corneal ulcers, which are slightly worse than a corneal scratch. Usually a follow up exam with the fluorescein stain (green dye) is done in a week to make sure the scratch has healed.

I'm obsessed when it comes to cleaning their eyes, I wipe it every morning w/a baby terry cloth, so it doesn't have a chance to cake on & harden. During that time, I take out any hair that might be poking their eye(s), so it's a good habit to check their eyes @ least once or twice a day. There was a client in my mobile grooming days & she has a beautiful Maltese in full length coat. I groomed her once every 2 weeks. She always had eye boogers caked on. I remove it @ the final rinse of her bath when it gets soft & is easily removable. Well, the last time, it was red underneath. I failed to remember to tell the client & she got upset & told my boss that I hurt her little girl. Even when I called her & explained what happened, she was still upset & didn't believe me. So the point of my story is...yes, eye boogers can irritate the skin underneath if left on for too long.

| I'm so glad it wasn't anything serious. Your description of the "green puss" just grossed me out. -_- Please give him extra kisses for us! |

| The scooting is another sign his eye is bothering him. Poor boy! Max mashed his face and scratched too if I didn't keep a cone on him. Sending gentle hugs for your little guy.
