From that pic, was that where his eye goobers were? Bc it doesn't look like the spot where the abcess would be if it was carnassial. Hope it all works out @ the vet & it's just a slight irritation from the eye goobers.

I'm obsessed when it comes to cleaning their eyes, I wipe it every morning w/a baby terry cloth, so it doesn't have a chance to cake on & harden. During that time, I take out any hair that might be poking their eye(s), so it's a good habit to check their eyes @ least once or twice a day.

There was a client in my mobile grooming days & she has a beautiful
Maltese in full length coat. I groomed her once every 2 weeks. She always had eye boogers caked on. I remove it @ the final rinse of her bath when it gets soft & is easily removable. Well, the last time, it was red underneath. I failed to remember to tell the client & she got upset & told my boss that I hurt her little girl. Even when I called her & explained what happened, she was still upset & didn't believe me. So the point of my story is...yes, eye boogers can irritate the skin underneath if left on for too long.
