| Latest from the AvMA: https://www.avma.org/KB/Resources/Pa...Questions.aspx Looks like the Ohio samples were negative. There may be another cause and circovirus can be found in healthy dogs. We are not doing anything differently with our pups until there is more info. But there isn't much to change for us anyway bc we don't do daycare, dog parks, etc.

| The eye opening thing of all of this to me is that my boy COULD have had this a couple of months ago but I honestly believe he wouldn't had made it if he did because my vet wouldn't had auto done specific tests. He would've just sent my boy home with cerenia and antibiotics. Blessed that this wasnt the illness he had. I am just freaked because...what if?

Thank you for sharing the info!! A dog I just helped adopt now lives in Ann Arbor and he is going to doggie daycare. I just passed the info along to my friend. I will also be limiting my boys activities for the moment. No trips to petsmart or petco for them. I seriously don't even know if I could tell if they were sick. My dogs have so many GI issues. A day of normal poop and good eating is a day to celebrate because it's such a rare occasion. | |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Oh my gosh...so scary . Thanks for posting this very important info. If it's seen in MI, I'm sure we'll be hearing of this as it spreads thru humans.

When your dogs have their GI issues does it change their behavior too? ZoE was sick a few months ago http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...-er-visit.html and I couldn't believe the change in her from when I left for work that morning & when I arrived home that evening. She clearly wasn't feeling right & didn't seem herself. It progressed so quickly, I thought I'd wake up to the dead dog the next morning, if I didn't get her to the ER that night. It's the first time she's ever been really sick like that out of the blue. I hope anyone whose dog gets sick with symptoms like that high-tails it to the vet right away and doesn't try to wait it out.

| I've been thinking about this and decided I can't keep Lola out of pet stores, but I won't let her walk around. Going shopping is pretty much her favorite thing and she gets cabin fever if I don't take her out at least 3 times over 2 weeks. She won't be happy about being carried, but it's better than keeping her home. I really hope we get some solid answers soon. |
