Lol! IDK, I didn't see the spider or feel it when it happened. It's lighter now but there's a larger ring of dark bruising, inside that is a white ring, inside that is a red circle with the fang marks. Like a dartboard! I still feel a small lump under the red, but today it's much less sore.

Yes that is the bullseye. Be really careful because if not treated properly it can eat away the flesh. Praying for you.

Found this: Bad Bug Bites Pictures Slideshow: Identify Bugs and Their Bites on MedicineNet.com

Shows bugs and bites... the Brown Recluse bite has a purple center (mine is red) and a blister develops (no blister on me). I will be watching it closely. Black Widow bites do cause an increase in Blood Pressure among other things and I've been having dizziness upon standing (unusual for me) along with the initial headache (now gone), nausea, aching joints on the affected arm, but no burning pain. I may end up going to the doc or ER if the symptoms don't go away soon!

we have them like crazy here too....I keep sticky traps out. We actually had a lady (about 33) die a few months ago from the bite even after 2 weeks in the hospital on antibiotics. bad stuff

Yes please be careful either way. Black widows are extremely dangerous if the venom gets to your heart almost lost my bil last year to one.

OMG whyyyy did I read this thread?! I gues its educational but EEK!! I don't wanna die! I hate spiders! I'm scared of even tiny lil ones! My friend keeps posting pics on Facebook of her brown recluse bite on her thigh...makes me want to vomit lol. So terrifying.

The trouble is the recluse is smaller than you think. I didn't know they could get 3 inches, but those I've seen are small and not intimidating as a big one. So be afraid.. be very afraid of the tiny lil ones
The are mostly legs, and very small body.

I was thinking about putting the traps out...never seen one around here, but after reading this, I want to be abslutely sure there are none...problem is, if I put a trap out, and I catch one.....never mind 20-30/month!!!!....they can have this dad gum house! I am outta here!!!!! What is the toxic powder someone said was effecive?? I can put that all aound the house in front and down both sides....my babies are not exposed to those areas....

The powder is used by exterminators Judy. They put it in the wall sockets and also drill tiny holes which they insert tubes into that you cant really see unless you are really looking for them in the drywall to spray it into the walls. The only draw back is how toxic it is so after it is done you have to clean the entire house thoroughly to make sure none gets on the paws of the pets in the house. I was like you about the traps at first but unfortunately here it has become a way of life lol. My neighbors have the powder sprayed and rarely see one I just havent wanted to risk it with the pups.

The bigger ones are the females but the largest I have ever seen was maybe an inch long.
