Thanks for the information. Do you do anything outside your home? If you can't spray for these suckers I'm not sure what you can do. I hate things that don't seem to have a natural predator to kill them or keep the population in check.

Read this a while back: spray the area with a mixture made from a cup of white vinegar and a teaspoon of coconut oil.

This is my arm... I woke up with cloudy brain and a migraine.

I was bitten as well. I didn't know what was happening to me, I never saw the spider. I was working in the backyard by the garden trellis. My temperature went up to 103 and a spot the size of a quarter turned black with ulcerous bumps. They pumped me full of drugs and told me my guardian angel was working overtime. I have one of those insect vacuums that sucks them into a tube and then you just flush them away.

The only insecticide I know of that works is a powder form but it is also very toxic to dogs .

We have a dermatologist who is great with these bites. He is writing a paper now for the cure he has come up with. Mine was on the calf of my leg and woke me from a dead sleep. Thankfully with his help mine is only the size of a dime. Still have the dark indentation but it could of been so much worse. The spiders in Missouri are bad we catch from 20 to 30 of them on traps every month.

Did you feel the spider bite? The people I have talked to knew it was some kind of bite but didn't think it was a spider.

Yes it woke me instantly and was super painful at the same time. It immediately turned bright red, began to swell, and became very very hot to the touch.

Are you sure it was a recluse? They have a bullseye appearance where the bite is. That looks almost like a black widow bite.

We live in the St Louis area. We used to visit Springfield quite a bit. We actually got Teddy Bear from a breeder named Kim Lilly who lived in Springfield. Did you know her by any chance? She passed away a couple of years ago. I know another breeder named Janet who lives in Ozark.
