Do you use a collar just because?

I also use the cat breakaway collar, it's small and just need it to hold Yogis ID tag.

If your dog is strictly an indoor dog, what is the purpose of an ID tag? BTW...can you have yorkies chipped? I would rather do that I think. I just don't like tags hanging down. Well, unless they are blingy!!

Until she gets used to it, it should be a little tighter when they are used to it they can be looser. Like Callie's is lose enough where if she got stuck on anything she could slip it off. Harness on all the time can cause hair loss and rashes. Plus I liken it to like wearing a bra all the time sometimes ya just wanna relax lol.

A lot of dogs even well trained are known to dart out the door and what if something happens while your gone like a tornado or your house gets damaged and your dog gets out most people do not look for a chip right away so you wont get your dog back as fast as you would if you had your number on a tag. There are tags that slide on the collar so no dangling.

What if your house was broken into and she got out? I think everyone on here has strictly indoor dogs, but the majority have their dogs wear collars with id. My babies are chipped, but I want to do everything in my power to ensure they get back to me if they are ever lost, and that includes having them wear collars with my phone number on them. Is it really worth the risk because you don't like the look or sound of them?

No collars... I do have them and they were for ID and visibility purpose. Reading this thread, I think I will put it on him again. I took it off b/c I felt it was uncomfortable for him.

I bought a reflective collar b/c I want ppl to be able to spot him in the dark. He has a dark coat so it's hard to see him when it's night time. I also bought a tag that you rivet onto the collar. My logic was the danglie tags might get snagged and lost.

PLEASE have your pup chipped if you haven't already. I think it should be one of the most basic things to have done as a pet owner.

Both my boys wear harnesses when they go on walks, but they have collars on as well that they wear for identification purposes only.

My little guy is microchipped (they did it when he was just over 2 lbs) and he finally is wearing a collar with a tag. I was being a wuss and let him be a baby about it for too long! When I finally put my foot down and decided he *had* to wear it, he sulked for two days! Crazy puppy. Now it doesn't bother him at all.

Because life & accidents happen. Doors don't catch on the latch. A pup runs between your legs when you answer the door.

As for a tag hanging down, you can get collars with the info embroidered right on it.

Mine are chipped and wear tags. I want all my bases covered.

I have collars but they don't wear them. I put all their tags on their Buddy Belt harness. It has a clip that goes on and off easily. I have ID tags and a bell on the clip. I don't leave my pups outside by themselves. I have see adorable colors that you can add slides, flowers, ect. to accent!

Lacey is chipped and an indoor pup. She wears a cat break-a-way collar and an id tag always because she is the first one to the door when someone knocks. She would go out in a heartbeat if I didn't hold on to her.
