| Winnie got me involved in a crime. . . LITERALLY! I took Winnie for a walk at 11PM because she has perfect timing. When I walked out of my house I noticed a man walking up the other side of the street and then saw him walk up to the house across from me which has been abandoned for several years. He looked through the windows and then attempted to open the front door. When he noticed it was locked he then walked up the drive way to the backdoor and I heard a crash. As soon as Winnie finished pooping (her perfect timing and all) I then decided to go back inside. Since my parents are out of town for two weeks I decided to call the none emergency police number for the city hoping they would simply send a police car down the street. Instead 3 cars showed up and the man ended up be wrestled to the ground and arrested. He was then placed in a cop car in front of my house as two of the cops came to my front door to question me. Thats right not only did he see me see him break in but the man arrested also watched the cops come to my house to take a statement. Now I am home alone and a criminal I got arrested knows where I live. I feel much safer, thanks police department.

| The police should be more careful. I don't understand why they did that. Please do what you can to be safe. Keep an eye out the window in front and back of your house. When you go out be aware of your surroundings and keep your phone in your hand. Maybe you should ask your neighbors to keep a watch on your house and call cops if they see anyone snooping around. Just be as cautious as you can.

| Tell me about it. My back door was also wide opened when I woke up this morning which I know I locked last night. All of this because Winnie needed to poop at 11PM.

| I totally did. When they walked up to my house and knocked on the door I stopped them before they could ask any questions I was like: "Wait before you say anything can I ask if you caught someone" They said that they did and he was sitting in the cop car and pointed to it, then I said "I am not too comfortable talking to you right now. He saw me while I was walking to dog so he knows what I look like and now he knows where I live". They police were like, "Oh he saw you, does that mean you could pick him out in a line up?!?!?!" I was like, "Yea sure after he kills me I'll make sure to go to his court date" then they went on this rant about how if he tries anything that he would be facing another felony and I was like "I dont give two *poops* if he faces another felony if I'm dead!!!!" Soooo clearly they dont seem to care too much...

| Thats why I haven't called them about my door being opened. The police got me into this mess, I dont expect them to get me out. Well the police and Winnie. Side note Winnie TOTALLY tried to attack the cops he asked me if I could put her in another room. I was like, "nope".

| This may be a good time to use potty pads, especially at night. Just a thought.

| I hope he's still in jail. If not, you should stay somewhere else for a while. At least till your parents are back... All these crazies these days.... |

| Wow, what idiots! I would definately stay somewhere else, even if it is a hotel room for a couple of nights, or do you have a friend that can stay with you until your parents are back? Preferably a tall, big male, - friend? cousin? bf? bff's bf??? And bff, too. The more, the merrier. I would also go to the police dept & ask to speak to the patrol officer's Sargeant or direct supervisor & explain what happened, tell them about the open door, find out if the perp was released & when, and ask for extra patrols on the street. Do you have any neighbors that are law enforcement? Ask them to park their patrol car in a conspicuous location. Keep all your outside lights on all night & ask your neighbors to do so, also. Even if you don't know them. If you aren't comfortable knocking on doors, make up a flyer briefly describing your situation and ask them to light up the street. Ask them to look out the windows periodically-like if they awaken during the night-"please just peek out the windows and look for anything unusual & call 911 or if uncomfortable with that, xxx-xxxx- non emergency dispatch, if they see anything. Have a next door neighbor park in your driveway next to your car to make it look like more people are there. Throw a party. Invite everyone you know. Also, if it won't freak them out while they are gone, let your parents know what is happening. I don't care if you are 18 or 50 or if the house is yours or theirs, if they normally live in that house, they might want to be informed. These were just a few things I thought of, but I hope they help. First thing...you keep YOU safe! Jeane, as a dispatcher, is there anything you can add that I forgot?
