| ![]() It's such a Yorkie thing! I love it! That running in the air, wiggling all over, trying to get some tongue anywhere near the new arrival. cracks me up. Not sure how you can handle it with people that don't like it. My oldest son (living at home) complained when we first got Shelby. I told him he would have to get used to it. Now he comes home from work and lays on the floor and just lets her have her way with him ![]() People that don't like it don't visit here that often and when they do Shelby sort of ignores them. Their loss. |

A couple of options. As previously said, teach him that kissing is not okay. That is most easily accomplished by NEVER petting him or loving on him UNLESS he has all of his feet on the floor (or is sitting whichever you choose). OR Another choice. Teach him to kiss on command. Only allow kissing when you give the command. OR Babygate him away from your visitors. OR Put him on a leash when you have visitors so that you can keep him from jumping up. OR warn your visitors before they come in OR don't allow them in. Let us know what you decide!

| ![]() I think your right about not expecting him to want to kiss others when I let him kiss me but it just isn't kissing, when they come in he jumps up and down constantly on them. And there is no way I will stop kissing him, I myself love his kisses, not everybody has that same feeling though. But tonight I had company and he did his usual thing jumping up and down and then when they sat down he jump in thier laps wanting to kiss or just wanting them to pet him. So I told them before they came in what to expect and then I would give him a stern NO NO and he did finally stop somewhat. I think that in time he will learn. We don't get much company and he just eats it up anytime someone pays attention to him. I will just have to work on it I guess. I want to thank everyone for thier comments because it has helped me. And I see that he isn't the only one that does it so maybe it is just a yorkie thingy hehe. Thanks again.

| ![]() I wouldn't complain about your dog jumping up and licking and kissing people when they come to your house. I thinks its great that he is like that. I wish my Bayley was a little more friendly like your Harley. My dog is like the guard dog from hell. I will say that he does lick and kiss my all over, and that is all that matters. The best kisses in the world. |

| ![]() OK, I found the perfect soloution, I agree I should be happy that he kisses instead of bites, I just wish he would settle down after a bit but HEY if that is the way he is then so be it, I love it and if anybody else doesn't, then read this sign....... Going to put it up at the front door. What do you think? ![]()

| ![]() So I told them before they came in what to expect... You're thinking he understands English? ...but it just isn't kissing, when they come in he jumps up and down constantly on them. Well, how about putting him on a leash so that he can't do that if your company finds it annoying? Distract him with a bone to chew on. The signs are cute!

| ![]() I don't have any advice yet, but i just want to point out...some people have stated annoyance at people that don't like to be licked! Keep in mind...some people are allergic to saliva! I am! I am soooo paranoid and crossing my fingers that I don't have an allergic reaction to snickers when i get him home. We have spent a lot of time at the breeders house, but you never know. I am still afraid of letting him lick me! |
