I started off with Bogie because my husband loves to golf and then YT'ers jumped in and suggested more golf names and I picked from there. I named the runt Misty because Lola reminds me of my best friends dog back when we were in high school. I promised her I would name one of them after her Misty. Many thanks to my friends on this site!!!! |

Your Lexi is stunning!!!!! I keep trying to put bows in Hannah's hair but she bobs her head up and down until she gets them out. Her Hair is getting long and I'm so tired of seeing it in her face. I really hate to cut it because she looks really pretty when I finally get it fixed up but it just never last more than 5 minutes. |
They all are so cute, I love Putt (probably because of the name). Good job Joyce and Lola |
Just finished reading the 16 page threads. All puppies and Lola are really cute! Good job! |
Fantastic thread! Amazing, all you've done for this little girl! Its awesome! And what cuties! |
they are adorable. I can't wait to see the videos. I will check this thread daily. |
"Animal Cops, Houston" All I could think of when I read your story of the poor "Mommy" dog were a few of those episodes on the Direct-TV series, "Animal Cops, Houston." I saw 3-4 shows last spring,2013. It seems that there is a rescue organization in Houston that takes phone calls about abused dogs, cats, horses, etc. and sends a shelter van or truck-(for large animals) to collect the animals, gives them all proper vet care, and removes them from the bad environment. They try to find new homes, especially for those little puppies that would be born, and Mommy would also get spayed...so, she wouldn't have to keep going through getting pregnant again and again! Seems like there must be some rescue org. in your area which would take phone calls from concerned citizens. It would not hurt to call and ask them what information you'd need to give them...perhaps it could be as simple as just letting them know where the Momma Dog is living. (Then your hubby wouldn't feel like he was getting involved.) |
Ohhhh they look so cute with their eyes open. Had to go to GCVS yesterday and today and I thought of you as I passed... Lola is a beautiful girl! You did a great job, Joyce!! I shudder to think what might have happened to all of them where they were living. |

Yay for You! So happy to hear you were able to actually get involved yourself and save the Mommy & her puppies! What does your husband think of the pups? |
Puppies are 3 weeks old today and when I fed Lola her RC can puppy food (which is what my vet recommended) guess who dove in...all 7 puppies. I had not tried to introduce them to food they just took it upon themselves to dive into the bowl like they've been eating out of one all along. I was amazed at how they were eating. I have never had a puppy or kitten try to eat at such a early age. Normally at 4 weeks I would introduce them to moist dog food. Putt was the little piggy...he laid down in the bowl and I had to make him stop eating. They were already really fat!!! Looks like I will be buying RC by the case!!! |
