I tried kongs when I first got her and she had NO interest in them. She is now throwing nutties in my face. She wants to walk/run/play. We usually walk about 2 hours a day, SO you can imagine how hyper she is. That being said, I am sending really good vibes your way!! | |

| ![]() When using a carseat the pup needs to wear a choke free harness, like a Buddy Belt. Both of my babys wear these, good thing too. Skittles decided that he wanted to go see someone when he was supposed to be in the stroller, they are always tethered there as well. He bailed out of the stroller and just hung there on the tether. He wasnt choking and he couldnt touch the ground. I stopped and just let him be there for a couple of seconds. He does NOT jump out of the stroller anymore. It didnt get him what he wanted. I keep the carseat tether very short, pup should be able to sit and lay down and that is it, so noone can get tangled in it and if they bail out I let them stay where they are until I can pull off of the road safely. I wouldnt do this with just any harness. The only "choke free" that I have found is the Buddy Belt. Mina nolonger just jumps out of her carseat because she has figured out that it is more uncomfortable to be stuck standing by the carseat than to just stay put. None of my dogs ride in my lap because it is NOT safe,in any way. If you slam the brakes on they can be thrown in the floor next to your feet. You are distracted and therefore more likely to have a wreck. If your airbag deploys your baby will be crushed to death between your body and the bag. I am not willing to live with that vision in my head therefore my dogs WILL ride in the backseat, just like my kids did, where they are safe. |

| ![]() I like the idea of bringing the carseat in the car and letting her sit in while you all are hanging out at home. My Sophie Kate has a Snoozer carseat and she sit in it now with no problem but at first it was a struggle to get her to stay in the carseat. Another suggestion is to get a harness with the tether that clips into the seatbelt latch (they sell them at pet stores). We have one for Sophie Kate and we use that sometimes on long trips with her in the backseat. Honestly, Sophie Kate does sometimes ride on my lap when I am the passenger but not when I am driving. She would be a huge distraction for me and probably would put me, herself and other drivers at risk.
