| Is this normal after shots? We just got a baby today. She's 9 weeks old, and had her second set of shots just before we got her. She's thrown up 6 times since we got her, but it's only a little bit. Yellow and foamy. She's definitely acting depressed (It's a big adjustment, I'd imagine, coming to a new home where she knows no one). She's been sleeping ok but she hasn't eaten or drank anything since we got her. Could the shots be what's making her sick? Or a combination of shots and being in a car, then a whole new home? Maybe all of it combined is just too overwhelming for her? Thanks for any input you can offer, Anna |

| It could be a mix of things. Do you have nutrical on hand? If not do you have karo syrup? If you have one of those see if she will lick some off your finger or take some and rub it on her gums her blood sugar could be a little low from not eating and throwing up then after that see if she will take any of her food. If that doesn't work you may want to try soaking her wet food in warm water letting it sit for a few minutes then drain it and see if she will eat some that way.

The throw up.. If its yellow/ foam it is usually bile. They can do that from not eating. She can also be stressed, plus the shots may make her feel kinda crappy. You need to get her to eat. In the meantime try giving her some baby food. Do you have any puppy kibble? Try getting thr organic baby food- make sure it doesnt have onion or garlic. Usually the meat type baby food does. I always get the fruit and veggies, peas, carrots, squash. You can also boil a skinless boneless chicken breast. Then shred it, mix with some of her kibble and add a little water. They will usually lap up some chicken, while getting some water into her body. Give her some time, let her rest. Make sure you get something in that belly- even if it is a little at a time!! Very important! She will be ok, she should sleep from the shots. Hopefully she is feeling better tomorrow. Keep us posted and congrats on your little one.

| I soaked the puppy kibbles in chicken stock for a bit and mushed it up when Magnus/Zoey were sick as puppies. I also mixed some pedialyte in the water. I always talk to them (more) when they're sick... petting them and what not. Could be my imagination but I sort of felt like they feel comforted when I do that. I hope your baby feels better. I think all of us here knows how awful it feels to watch them being sick. |

| Thanks, everyone. She went downhill overnight and we realized it wasn't the shots, she had parvo. I got her to the vet first thing this morning and they're going to keep her. I figured she wouldn't miss us since she just met us yesterday, so keeping her there was the best. They'll be able to help her better, I think. I don't know if they'll be able to save her but I sure hope so. I'm so mad at the breeder. She had to know that she had parvo. She told us that she took Lola (That's what I decided to name the baby) to the vet yesterday to get her 2nd set of shots, but the birthdate of the one that she took to the vet and the birthdate of Lola don't match up. I think she took another dog to the vet and just tried to make it seem like it was Lola. If Lola had been at the vet yesterday, surely they would have caught this. :-/ Anyway, thanks for your help, and please cross your fingers that they are able to save this poor baby. She's SO miserable, it's really one of the saddest things I've ever seen. |

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I am so sorry you are going through this. Parvo is scary. I hope your little one pulls through. Please take advantage of the time she is at the vets and clean everything she came near, including floors, toys, bedding, even your shoes, to prevent a reinfection. Parvovirus | ASPCA Dog Parvovirus Symptoms, Treatments, and Causes Once your baby is well, please concentrate on going after that horrible breeder! And pease keep us updated on your little one.

| Oh my goodness I hope she pulls through and I will keep her in my prayers. Please seek legal action on this breeder so she doesn't do that to some one else.
