| I would get a bunch of samples and try different foods. 3 lbs is pretty small to just ignore the fact that she's not eating, even for just one meal.

. I got a few bags of wellness food so we will see how she likes it. I'm also thinking maybe I'll try canine caviar. I heard putting a little Parmesan cheese on the food makes it more appetizing to them?

| When did you open that bag of RC? Has it been couple of months? I ask bc w/1 yorkie, it takes 4ever to finish a bag...& after 2-3 months, the fats & oils in the kibble starts to become rancid & it changes the taste. Something that they enthusiastically ate @ 1st, is suddenly unappetizing to them.

My Mimi was VERY picky & I had to add all sorts of things on her kibble to make her eat. She loves CC & prefers it moistened...I also give them raw food sometimes.

| I fed RC for a while & mine did great on it. I'm back to raw again though. It really is the only diet that mine will eat enthusiastically for any length of time. Plus, I'm really sick of monitoring recalls & ingredients. It gives me a headache.

| I am feeding Pulsar, but any of the Horizon brands are good foods. I also feed some raw, and I cook for them... variety... most dogs will eat when they get hungry, but with the tiny guys you have to try to get them to eat every day... cheese, p. butter, gravy, soup (low or no salt added), yogurt, coconut oil, .... there are many things to try on top of a good quality kibble ( which may be a bit of an oxymoron) lol. I must add that when you cook for your pets, you should add a good supplement. You can ask a holistic vet the names of some... Sunday Sundae is a good one... it is a powder you add to the cooked food. Last edited by KathyKelben; 07-17-2013 at 03:19 PM. |
