Errgh Tile, wood or carpet?

We are just going to tile the whole house and put some area rugs!! Peanut just peed next to this pad last night in the bedroom so I really don't want to deal with carpet!!

Here is our Porcelain Tile! Excuse the mess, it is in the " front office" we just built

They are big 20" . DH is going to do a small grout line.. It is going to look amazing!!

That is another reason I don't really like wood floors. It is so slippery for Peanut- he has fell a couple times.

We have hardwood in the foyer, ugly linoleum in the kitchen/breakfast area, and carpet everywhere else.

My guys don't go on the stairs, I carry them. We have an open landing thing that we call "the hole", a view to the first floor foyer. I know if the doorbell rang, the boys would fall down the hole or tumble down the stairs racing to the door.

Oh my.. keep those boys away from the hole!! LOL Sounds dangerous! Thankfully the tile we picked isn't as slick as the wood floors. Peanut loves to run around the house and he is always slipping bc of the floors!! So I will be happy when we get the tile in!

Great choice. You are going to love the feel, and discover a whole new level of "clean". Best pet friendly flooring ever, and it will be beautiful. I also have 20" travertine look porcelain, and it makes rooms look so much bigger.

I missed your post earlier. Your new flooring is going to be beautiful! Is DH doing it? I'm so envious. Wish I could tile. IronMike is going to post that I can do it if I try a little harder.

Also, we can't have large spans of tile (larger than the bathrooms) because we have silly engineered wood beams that make the floors bouncy. Tile would never hold up in our house.

Thank you!! Our condo we lived in had tile... I loved it! It also had granite!! LOL We are not even close to remodeling the kitchen... I do see granite in my future! I love granite!!

I really like the big tiles, we had smaller tiles at our condo. We are going to do a thin grout line too so I think that will make it look really good!!

DH has agreed I can get area rugs.. My plan is to first get some cheap ones while training Peanut not to pee on them! Haha Hopefully one day I can get nicer ones.

Thanks Kristin! When I got home from work yesterday he had the whole house gutted.. all the wood was gone LOL It was all concrete. It was so funny Peanut was running around all over the place. He left the wood in the bedrooms.. and front bath. After we finish up the tile we will remodel the front bath, then tile it.

DH has his worker guy doing it, he is at the house now prepping.. DH said he will have to prep the floor today and possible tomorrow so he probably wont start laying to Friday.

That stinks Krisitn. I can send you DH's worker Oscar, for a slight fee if you like? He is super nice.. and a little handsome if I must say haha.

It will be awesome. The photo looks kind of sand colored, neutral, and it will be timeless, and doesn't look like it will show dirt.

I wish my grout lines were thinner, but even though it is a light color it still cleans up nicely without lots of work.

Extensively sealed wood..

Grout is no fun to clean and darpet will hever, ever get clean no matter how hard you try. The pad will still be pee soaked, it will start to smell awful, and it will go throughto the sub floor.

Ya I will have to take a pic once on the ground. Ya I never really had a problem keeping grout clean..

It’s getting better.. Our kitchen is grouted!! Yeay! I just LOVE it!
Please ignore those ugly cabinets, those will be out soon!

The house has been upside down, but since our kitchen is semi back together it’s all good! DH has been a real dream to me. Since my back procedure he has been there for me every day, taking care of me. We pretty much have been eating out dinner, he said he didn't want me to cook! I just love him.

Oscar has a little area in the front left, then he can grout the rest of the floor
