Errgh Tile, wood or carpet?

I would go with wood or tile and add a nice plush Turkish rug - a large one- to the master bedroom floor. If peanut wizzes on it you can take it to the cleaners

Loll I have the oppsosite taste when it comes to flooring from you, I LOVE laminate wood. We have it throughout here (except tile in kitchen & bathrooms) & we have no rugs, they can't tell the difference. @ our old house b4 we moved here, we had berber carpet upstairs & the boys would make potty mistakes. Had to steam clean it every 6 months. Laminate is so easy to take care of, cinch to clean, I even vacuum it once a week. I like the feeling of it on my bare feet. I wish we had a roomba to clean the floors automatically, but the boys probably won't leave it alone.

So true!! Our floors have been so dirty, drywall dust, texture mud, you name it- it is probably on the floor! The maid was just at our house on Sunday and cleaned the floors.. omg they look so good! When you walk on them you can tell they are clean LOL Love that feeling. It is true with carpet- even when you vacuum you still aren't getting the stuff way under there.

Well when we are gone, he is in the bedroom. I have the gate in the doorway. I also close the master bath door, bc he loves to wizz on the bathroom mats! LOL

Bath mats(and bathrooms in general) are sugar's favorite too!! Must already smell like pee in there

Another bonus of all hard floors...... no fleas. I have not had to use flea prevention on my pups for over 2 years after getting rid of carpet.

What does the laminate wood look like?

I agree with the rugs, since Pnut uses his pad- he will use any rug in the house. I have bath mats- I hate walking on cold tile after I shower.. we have to keep the bathroom door shut, or Peanut will use that as his potty pad.

We lived next door to a Yorkie Breeder, well it was her son that lived there. She would come down from AZ and stay with him sometimes. She would bring her puppies.. I was talking to her one day and she told me the problem with pee pads is they won’t know the difference- which at the time I thought was silly. I thought no way they wouldn't know. One pad smells like pee and one doesn't… well turns out she was right LOL

We have been re-training him. He has been doing great! I lock him in the bedroom when I’m at work. Then when I get home he is locked in the bedroom- if I go out and I know I will be able to watch him I will let him loose. He will usually want to go outside in his dog run and lay in the sun.. he has been going to the bedroom to pee on his pad so he has been doing great, Compared to what he was!! OMG he was horrid! He would pee anywhere he wanted!!

Hmm I’m not sure what to do- I really want carpet in the bedrooms. What do you guys have? If you have carpet do you keep them out of the rooms?

Good one, mine are not reliable all the time either... I have wood floors with a good coat of something on them so they won't stain....

I have an area rug in my living room...I sprayed it with that NO stuff...so far so good...today I am taking up the vinyl flooring I installed in their room...I hate it I'm going to put an area rug that I found at home depot...it has a solid plastic/rubber backing...I am going to spray it with NO....but if they pee on it I have a $100 shampooer always on standby...

I don't think there is an easy answer here, Peanut is Peanut...just find the quickest, less damaging way to handle it...hopefully in time it won't be an issue.

Oh and I'm going to buy one of those rubber backed rugs to put over my area rug for "most days" just in case....

Funny, my girls think bath mats are pee pads too. I don't leave them down, I hang them over the tub after showering.

Little sinkers! You know what it doesn't. When we moved in our master was broken. We closed it off and used the other bathroom. We just recently fixed it. It has always been closed off. ( Door shut) Never any pee has been in there, unless the previous owners dog went in there. Not sure because they weren't even using the bathroom. Plus when our cleaners came the first time we moved in I had her clean that bathroom and I made her use the pet cleaner for pee and stuff like that.

Oh that's a good idea... hang them up.

Does it annoying doing that? Our bathroom is long, it has two sinks. So I have three mats. One at my sink, one at DH's then I have one next to the tub.

I can see the tile, I cant really see the wood.. I like that tile. Too red for me but I like it!
