Yorkie Talker | Bentley's haircut :( So I took Bentley to a groomer for his first haircut yesterday and was very shocked when I went and picked him up. I have gotten so used to him being a little bundle of fluff and now his body is almost bald. I told them a puppy cut but I wasn't expecting him to look so different. Of course, I love him all the same but he just doesn't look like my puppy anymore. |

| Well he is just the cutest thing! I understand the shock of the first cut. That is not really a puppy cut..it's more of a schnauzer cut. Still stinkin adorable. Best bet is to take a pic of what you want next time. Or...do it yourself. So far, I just do it myself. I've heard too many unhappy customers from groomers. Edit to add: if you go to my profile page and look at Mandie's early pics..this cut is similar. The owners before me had that done and called it a "modified schnauzer"

| Much cuter than Blazer looked after his first groom! And WAY cuter than my friend's little boy after HIS first groom (poor dog looked like an alien!) Bently is adorable, but I totally understand the shock! |

YT 500 Club Member | He is just adorable! Every time I get Fritz groomed I'm shocked when I pick him up. I keep him short year round and his style looks similar to your boy's.

| That is not a puppy cut! I am sorry . .. This is why I am so scared to take Bentley to the groomer, I am going to take a picture with me and ask 100 times exactly for what I want. I am really hoping to find a groomer who would let me stay with him. I would be really upset as well

| Awwww I think he looks adorable but I know it's a shock when they no longer look like a 'puppy' anymore! Jackson's very first haircut was just a trim- usually groomers won't do a full shave down for a first haircut, but I actually specifically ask for it with my dog, now as an adult. It just fits his personality and I love him with the shorter do. But yes it's a big change and takes getting used to! Either way I think he looks stinkin adorable. This was Jackson before and then after his VERY first haircut. 4th pic is what he looks like now as an adult.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | I can understand not getting what you asked for. Just happened to Jasper last week. But, I think, your baby is precious. He's still you're baby and it will grow back fast before you know it.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | Same thing happened to us recently! Amazing we had our little girl 'scalped' two weeks ago! She's 24 weeks and I was shocked at the time. Bentley (great name) now looks exactly like our Crystal. I think it will take at leasts two months till she's back to how she was. I thought 'Puppy Cut' meant curly long legs and we asked for her face to be left long also. We've decide that's it, never again and we'll trim her ourselves, especially as she's getting so good at letting us comb her now. She was a semi rescue pup from an old lady who couldn't cope and then she'd been in a kennel scenario where she got badly matted with sawdust; I think truly speaking the woman who did it was in a hurry to go home! I'm still annoyed, but they do look great anyway, or at least that's how I've come to terms with it. PS he looked superb before, so he'll soon be back as he was! |

| Aww, he looks so cute and grown up with his new cut! The first time is always shocking, my mom and I shaved Henri ourselves and still even we were shocked how different he looked! He went from a little ball of fluff to looking like a grown up Yorkie!

| Looks the same as Luma did after her first haircut....the only difference is I actually asked them to shave her down and keep face long! Thats not a puppy cut. Sorry you had a bad first grooming experience. Maybe he had some bad matting close to the skin that you never noticed and they decided to shave him down? Just a guess. Or maybe they just decided to groom him the way *they* liked. Either way, Bentley looks great and I bet he is a happy pup with that great summer cut!! Nice and cool! I think they really enjoy being free from all the hair It grows back, honestly, Lumas fully grew out in about 4 months. He really does look cute though

| Adorable, maybe not what you expected...but you gotta admit he is cute. Just relax, give it a few months, I think you're going to like it. I have always kept my Yorkies in a traditional long cut, but that's what I like. They never have that just groomed look, just smell better!!!
