Our police department told me that in today's world, anytime anyone makes a complaint about a neighbor for whatever reason, the neighbor could take it out on their home from breaking a window to setting their house on fire. They were just trying to alert me to be ready for possible ugly repercussions if I reported her barking dog and it shocked me that people would go to those ends. I checked my fire extinguishers and got ready for the worst but thankfully upon talking to my neighbor, she did blow up with anger at first but then subsequently taught the dog not to bark and all is good now. I sure hope your neighbor can get some help and you no longer have to fear what he might do to your dogs, your family or your premises.

Maybe the police contacted his NOK and told them they needed to step in and begin a dialogue with him about the way he's been acting and what could happen if he doesn't get a handle on his behavior. Hopefully he's got enough awareness of his condition to listen to them, get help and rein himself in. I sure hope so because I know having neighbor troubles is so awful as one has to live cheek-by-jowl with them and it can get very dangerous when tempers flare or one party is truly dangerous as this man is. They would have to come and check him out medically, then they would get the police involved if he is acting irrationally.... just guessing though. My babies do not go out into the "big yard" where I have all their ecercise equipment and fun activity center set up, until I do a complete and thorough sweep of the yard on that side of the house. I set up swimming pools over here by the patio area....the babies all stay over here in this area, where the thugs can not access.......I have this area covered by concrete and flag stones, so it is easier for me to see stuff on the ground......it is pretty dad gum sad when we have to be terrified for the safety of our kids and animals.....and even our homes, as this thug "of mine" was caught setting the local elementary school on fire.

This reminds me of a situation we had a few years ago when two of my four pups got really sick with diarrhea issues. I jut recently found out the cause of by a neighbor who he told he did it to. My neighbor the Father/Police officer who threw laxative laced hot dogs over our fence for the dogs to eat not the kids. I would of never imagined someone especially him doing that. It disgusts me to even speak to him with respect knowing that I know that he doesn't think I know, but for the sake of keeping the peace I keep it to myself.

OP; I am so sorry that this has happened to you and your babies !! Stay safe and I agree keep records of all of the happening and going ones for future reference. You just never know when you may need it.

When I was a child (I am 60) we ran all over our neighborhood. Not as a gang, not in a hood......a hood was what was on a jacket. We had fun. No one poisoned our dogs and they actually ran free with us kids. Neighbors knew each other, had block parties together, watched out for all the kids (meaning if you did something wrong like said a swear word or spit on someone they immediately corrected you and then called your parents...and your parents were glad they did). Teenagers babysat the younger kids in the neighborhood. We all went to the Saturday matinee by ourselves and our parents never had to worry about someone molesting us. We took our pillow cases on Halloween night, just us kids, and walk the neighborhoods trick or treating. No one had to check our candy for razor blades or worse. You didn't pick up your newspaper with your morning coffee and read about a neighbor going crazy and blowing away several next door or in a theater. Things moved at quieter, slower pace. You could still hear children laughing while they played outside late into the night catching lighting bugs. I miss those times.
