Does your neighbor live by himself? It would seem that if he is that disturbed that he is probably on some type of assistance or else living with a relative. If he has a caretaker then you might be able to talk with that person. If not then he has to have a caseworker or two. Getting in touch with your local mental health agency or assistance office may get you in contact with someone that may be able to help you. If his caseworker is unaware that he is off his meds they may do something about him if only an admission to get him stabilized again. If the police are aware of this guy then they should have done that for you but you can't be sure unless they tell you. It certainly is not the kind of situation that you can just let go. He is not in touch with reality and you should not have to cope with his issues. |
Oh, we are all so worried! I pray they are alright and she posts soon. |
Sorry to keep you all hanging. My DD came by and snatched me from my house today, which I sooo needed. She is getting married this October to a wonderful man that we all dearly love. Any way we went shopping and had a much needed relaxing, fun filled day. Please forgive me for not checking in sooner, I just needed to get away from the house for awhile, away from this neighbor for awhile. My blood pressure is much much better now. Since I have been home the neighbor has been quiet. When I took the girls, I first checked the yard really good to make sure he hadn't cut the fence again or thrown anything into the yard. Everything appeared to be fine. He had company at his place so maybe that is helping to settle him down. DH called the sheriffs department today and they said the report has been completed so we can go pick it up and proceed from there. Thank you all so very much for your concern, thoughts, advice and prayers it truly has meant a great deal to me. I have read all your comments to DH as they came in and we are carefully considering all the advice that each of you have given us. Blessings to you and yours. |
I'm glad you got a break today! It's good to get away from stress, and I can't think of a better stress reliever than shopping! |
I'm glad things have calmed down. Have been nervous for you guys. |
Yes, thank The Lord it has been very quiet today. DD and I made her bouquet and bouquets for the brides maids. Had a wonderful time with her and my precious pups. My oldest one, Prissy, especially loves her. She gets extra attention from DD bc that is her pick. I pray the neighbor has received the intervention that was needed....I am sure this has been very difficult for him. I can't even imagine. |
I have also been so worried about you, your dogs and your families safety. So happy to hear your update...whew, what a relief. I to hope this man gets the help he needs, but at the same time I am happy you notified the authorities and a report has been done...sometimes with situations like this, you have to go the legal route...most mental health advisers...can only advise...law enforcement could have had him sent to an emergency room, where the SASS personel, will come to assess him for mental health admission. Again, stay safe, do not let your guard down. |
Sending prayers to you and your family. Asking God to put his angels around you and guard you. |
Thank you all so much. It has continued to stay quiet. I pray this will continue and is not the calm before the storm. I usually don't get as upset as I had been the last few days, but I have to admit this had my cage rattled. It helped a lot to come here and talk it through and hear what others had to say. Also the prayers have been so greatly appreciated. |

Just checking in to see how things are going, good to see things have been quiet. I would still continue to be very cautious, which I am sure you are doing, for every ones welfare. |
