And who in the heck thinks that if a dog is 3# it has to be unhealthy? My Libby is always between 2.8-3.0# and she is healthy as can be. My 5# I had for many years had yorkie health problems. No one knows for sure what lays in the future for a yorkie.

Umm a lot of people on this forum think that. I never said anything if the sort. If you read the whole thread you'd see that I was against people who thought that.

No our biggest fear is that supply and demand make already unethical breeders breed more tinies INTENTIONALLY....which more often than not produces very unhealthy pups, and very unhealthy parents with a host of debilitating and congenital problems.

No one, least of all me is saying that all tinies are unhealthy.

No, you are very wrong in that. No one here says that JUST because the dog is small that it is going to be unhealthy. You really need to unwrap your mind from that thought. What we have all been saying over and over is that those breeders who advertise "Teacups," "Tinies," "Micro-Minis," etc are breeding down for size and not checking for health and THOSE pups are more likely to be unhealthy. Just as BYBs and Puppy Millers aren't breeding for health and breed standard THOSE pups (no matter their size) are more likely to be unhealthy. More likely, not guaranteed. Yorkies come in a variety of sizes now and any of them can be completely healthy or sick as can be. People tend to have an idea of what size dog they want- not always big, not always small and that goes for any breed.

I think we have been over and over and over and over this. Any size dog that is poorly bred can and will most likely have health issues. A tiny dog that is poorly bred will suffer greater because he/ she has no resourses to fight off illness and lacks body mass to miss a meal or three during an emergent situation.

I'm not sure what it is that continues to need clarification.
