After having such a small dog myself(a runt from a litter with other standard-sized pups) and seeing what she went through with her various GI, malabsorption, orthopedic and size-related living problems and having to sit by while she did the suffering for being born too tiny, I will always raise my voice against anyone who would breed to deliberately create a litter subject to the kind of hell little Jilly went through in her life. I wish everyone who wants a tiny dog and does actually get one winds up with a healthy one who is never injured due to to its tiny size and has inherited no bad problems and won't ever have to sit by and watch them suffer due to all those medical problems so many of them have due to being so tiny. But sadly, that is too often not the case. And "teacup" - don't get me started on what I think of someone who purposefully and with malice aforethought creates "teacup" Yorkies knowing of the problems they are so often born to have and the life so many of them will have to live!!! Shame on those breeders.

Okay but this thread isn't about breeders who purposely breed for tinies! That's what everyone seems to be missing.

If you google 'teacup yorkies' you'll get hundreds of sites selling tiny mini micro teacups, not only yorkies, but pommies, poodles, all sorts of breeds for outrageous prices. Some of these babies leave their moms too young (only 5-6 weeks) & even get shipped here by plane in cargo & many do not make it...all for the mighty $. They sell these poor innocent pups for thousands, lying about their age, saying they're couple months old when they're only a couple weeks old. To top it all off, you won't even get the pup pictured online, it will be a different pup & you can't do anything about it. The worse part, they breed 3# or less females & don't care if she has to have c-sections, over & over to the point where her stomach is hard as a turtle shell from scarring. To me, the word teacup describes these unethical practices of vile human greed @ it's lowest form.

I always get asked if my guys are teacups, they range from 5-7#'s. I say no, they're just regular Yorkies.

I posted what I felt about "teacup" dogs' lives and the people that willingly create them. I will never stop trying to warn people on any thread about the subject of the "teacup" Yorkie and per the rules, that is what I did. New readers join everyday and we have visitors who may not know some of the issues I and others posted.
