| Bottom line is that she is YOUR pup and it is YOUR call. If you don't want something, you simply say NO. Just because a vet suggests something does not mean you must do it.

| Hey, I live in South Nashville in the Nashboro Village area. Vet is on Nolensville Road.

| Yes. I know it is my call. I want to be sure I'm doing the best thing for Lacey. My gut says take her home and it is comforting to know that is the opinion here.

| Just be sure to speak with your vet about what to expect. They are goofy that first night and it is scary to some pet owners. That is why vets do this. And, she needs to be kept quiet.

| I agree. I would never leave my puppy to be alone all night after surgery. I've never heard of such a thing! What if she gets sick during the night?

| Staying overnight is fine with supervision. No supervision post spay, no stay. Honestly, it does not need to be an argument. Take a stand. I know many vets, all of which release same day. Those roads would have to be ridiculously bumpy for your vet's argument to have any merit. They can give an antiemetic before release. My chick came home same say after spay plus liver biopsy. She was fine.

| YT Addict | Well I feel stupid. When I had Maggie spayed at 6 months I was told I had to leave her overnight and I did. They told me a tech was there until 10pm and then back at 6am. She did fine but now I wish I had insisted she come home the same day. Bogey will be neutered in August and if my vet won't agree to letting me take him home I'm afraid I'm going to have to find another vet. Maybe I better start looking now!
