Do I really have a full bred yorkie?

Yorkies come in all diff sizes and colors. We have four AKC Yorkies and each and every one is so very diff! All have diff body types, weights, colors, coats and personalities. We have a 6 lb female (reg B/G more Black and Tan -longer body and nose), 4.4 lb male(B&G but very light-stocky), 4.6 female (B&G-VERY silky hair - never every has had a knot!!-very petite) and puppy 3.6 female (at the moment still B&G-stocky and hopeful showgirl). One reason why I adore the Yorkies are that they are all so diff and not cookie cutter dogs!

Gucci's coat is cottony. And she is a Yorkie. Some yorkies coats are cottony and others silky' That doesnt make them any less Yorkie or beautiful, just not show quality. I really wasnt looking for a show dog. I really think your Jess is beautiful.

I had the same question as this. My dogs hair is wavy on the bottom and top of back legs, and yet legs, head, neck and tail are silky. How could this be? It also seems that her hair is blue/grey/silky near her skin, but when it grows out it is more black on the ends? Doesnt make sense. Here are two pictures of her, in one she looks black, in one she looks blue. I must say that when I didnt know better, and was using Pantene, or other human soaps on her, her coat wasnt very silky. Now that I am using the right shampoo, it is much better.
